Life & Work with Tyme Journey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyme Journey.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started learning how to apply make-up when I was 15 years old. I’ll never forget the moment I applied way too much orange “Color Corrector”, which looked great in my low-lit room, but when I went outside, it looked like I was “twinning” with the sun. After that, I began to learn more about lighting, cameras and how to achieve a natural-looking “sun-kissed glow”. I was inspired by many beauty influencers on YouTube and wanted to create educational make-up tutorials just like them. Years later, I started a beauty brand called “Dose Of V” that sells amazing beauty products, with an Instagram filled with tutorials, tips and tricks, and beauty “inspo”.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I went through some challenges with my beauty brands like online bullying, criticism, and rejection. But, being an entrepreneur is not for those who want it the easy way. To me, being an entrepreneur means being dedicated to your dreams and also being realistic about them. Experience is the best teacher, and I learned a lot during this experience.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Not only am I a beauty influencer, I am also a film-maker. I am most proud of my work overseas as a photographer and product manager/sales-person in cities like Paris, Berlin and London. Currently, I am the Director of Photography and Chief Cinema Editor of a new reality show called “Mompreneurs Of Atlanta”. I’m not really that much different from other people with dreams and goals. The difference may be my own belief in my own abilities.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Honestly, I take my spirituality seriously, and I allow my ancestors to guide me.
