Meet Amore Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amore Jones.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Born and raised in the DMV, I discovered my passion for music at a young age through a comedic coincidence. What started out as an attempt to make my classmates laugh by impersonating singers ended with me being kicked out of class and transferred to another… chorus. This was my first time seeing the entire process of arranging music, and I was hooked. I spent the next several years cutting my teeth and sharpening my pen through writing and collaborating on songs from various genres and working with major artists, formulating my art for a new generation of listeners.

Now, I’m ready to shape my own path and share my sound with the world starting with my upcoming 4-track EP, “In the Meantime…”.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
So many people focus on the end goal of life, but the joy is in the journey. I’ve had struggles just like any dreamer, but I try to see obstacles as opportunities for growth.

When I first started making music, the challenge was finding my own sound. I focused a lot on what I felt people wanted from me. I was making a lot of top 40 music at first and it was cool, but I felt at home within the pop and R&B genre; it just came to me so naturally. I always wanted to make timeless music and felt like if I chose R&B, I would be expected to follow certain trends within that genre.

One day, I just realized R&B doesn’t have to be a box that keeps me in; it can be the foundation or seed from which my music grows. My goal is to make timeless music that stems from R&B roots but touches many genres.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My music abounds from my personal experiences and I love listening to songs with lyrics that really capture what I’m feeling. I wrote “In The Meantime…” as a unique perspective on the natural arch of the dating experience. I think audiences will really enjoy the soundscapes and wordplay. I have my favorite songs on the EP, but there’s a record for every music fan to enjoy. I believe my sound will resonate deeply with audiences across the globe.

What are your plans for the future?
My debut EP, “In the Meantime…”, drops this April. I have several other projects in the works for 2022/2023. I’m excited to perform live this year as well, giving me the opportunity to interact with fans in person. I also just submitted for this year’s NPR Tiny Desk Contest – you can check out my submission on my YouTube channel. I am looking forward to reaching more people, touching more hearts, and making more memories as I continue to grow and expand my sound.
