Hi Candace, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my business my 10th grade year of high school. At the time it was beaded bracelets and I literally started from a box of beads. I loved the motivation it gave me and how people loved what I did and the outcome. I started in Covington, GA and moved to Atlanta June 2019. I knew there would be competition so it took me a little while to adjust. For a while I took a break but still made orders here and there. Then covid came and I was able to put my full focus into my passion and business. I was literally getting orders left and right and it was the best feeling ever. With my business it’s not about the money it’s about making my customers satisfied. I love when someone say they love my products or when I’m restocking something. I love brainstorming new ideas and making my business look nice. I recently rebranded from being “beadedbycandy” to “candyjcollections” and I love it. I rebranded to make my business more mature. I got my LLC after being in business for 2 years and I plan on taking my business far. I love being an entrepreneur and the trials and errors. A business isn’t easy but if you’re passionate about what you do and just aren’t in it for the money it’s worth it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. The hardest part honestly is promoting. I’ve paid for lots of promos even paid famous people and it’s really trial and error. Sometimes someone with 1 million followers will only give you 3 when promoting your products. Sometimes promoting can be discouraging but I keep going. Another thing was one time someone used a credit card on my site and I literally had to rebuild my site on another platform because my site got messed up. I had got so sad and discouraged but I knew that I wanted to keep going.

Candy J Collections, is an accessory business. I sell jewelry, WaistBeads, designer bonnets, and customized products that I customize myself. I am known for my business and being a professional business woman. People love my customer service and how above and beyond I am for my customers. What sets me apart from others is that I literally built my brand up by myself. I don’t have anyone popular around me and I’m not popular myself. I’m literally putting the hard work in day and day out. This is also not a diss to anyone who had help. But, it’s harder to just start and work hard for what you want. I don’t ask anyone to repost anything I just promote myself and pay to promote to get myself out there. I believe that my genuine humble spirit will get me to where I need to be. What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is the things that motivates me. Everything that I accomplish makes me happy. I am truly not happy if I’m not completing milestones. I believe that I gotta be doing something to keep myself going. If I’m just sitting there unmotivated it puts me in dark space. My business is another thing that makes me happy. Anytime I’m brainstorming for my business I’m literally smiling from ear to ear.
