Hi Crystal, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I believe my life can be divided into two parts, then and now. As the eldest girl of six children in a Caribbean family, I was born into a world of responsibilities. I did things like cooking, cleaning, changing diapers, and refereeing fights between my brothers. Although we didn’t have the latest toys or gadgets, my parents gifted us with knowledge and positive affirmations.

They always found a way to make things work, and they did it while holding their heads high and a huge smile on their faces. Back then, I didn’t realize it, but my parents gave me the gift of confidence, which has been a crucial factor in my success. Growing up as a plus-size person in my household was not a big deal until it was time to go shopping for school. Back then, there was no such thing as trendy plus-size fashion or online shopping, lol.

I had to be creative with my wardrobe choices and find ways to wear clothes that were not designed for my size in innovative ways, like shopping in the men’s collection, wearing items in unconventional ways, and wearing what I wanted unapologetically. As I discovered stylish ways to dress my plus-size body, I started my personal lifestyle blog called “The Life & Style of Crystal Chanel” and my career as a Social Media Maven began.

By sharing lifestyle, fashion, and beauty videos, I grew my tribe to over 650,000 loyal supporters with over 10 million of views. I aimed to inspire all women to feel confident and beautiful, regardless of their size. Soon, I became known as a “plus-size guru” who was “#UnbotheredBellyAndAll”. My lifestyle blog has become a resource for fashion, beauty tips, and DIYs, helping me connect with many women who look like me and have shared common victories and struggles.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Life came at me fast when I began to assist in the care and support of my late mother. I found myself witnessing the slow decline of the strongest, most resilient person I knew. During my journey as a caregiver, I began to view life differently and experienced a major shift in mindset. I learned that tomorrow isn’t promised, so I started to appreciate life more and enjoy every moment.

The trees looked taller, the sun brighter, and even the small things weren’t so small anymore. I made a conscious decision to live my life for fulfillment, freedom, and family. I reminded myself that I could control most of what happened to me and started asking myself, “What would make me the happiest?” This one question led me to pursue a career as a full-time influencer and entrepreneur.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Through this journey, I learned a lot about myself and my true desires in life. One of the things I discovered was the importance of good nutrition, which ultimately led to my decision to undergo weight loss surgery. Although I was initially hesitant to share my weight loss journey with my followers, I decided to be genuine and open with them and to simply be myself.

To my surprise, the response was overwhelmingly positive. I became a source of motivation for others to begin their wellness journey which led me to share my journey on YouTube and to become the founder of Keto Pinkprint, the Ultimate Girlfriends’ Guide to Living a Ketogenic Lifestyle. My content echoes my belief that a woman’s size does not define her beauty, but her confidence does. I encourage women to feel good by looking good, because confidence is power, and the world needs more powerful, confident women.

Over the years, I have shared my life on social media, and I have discovered what works best for successful brand awareness. The key is to establish a connection with your audience by showing them that you are a relatable and authentic person. By being a friend and sharing both the good and bad times, I have established a foundation of trust with my followers and built a community. Content creation has become a positive force in my life and a fruitful career.

Networking and finding a mentor can have a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I’m a believer in the saying, “Your network is your net worth!” I enjoy connecting with like-minded, driven people to be inspired and keep my vibrations running high. My ultimate goal is to teach as many people as possible how to live their best lives, and find happiness, and purpose every day. I created the Millionaire Content Club, my entrepreneur community, to cultivate a space to help inspire entrepreneurs how to turn content into coins.

My mission this year is to help 1,000 women learn how to turn their phones into ATMs and create time, location, and financial freedom. Collaborating and social media has transformed my life, and it can do the same for you. Just imagine identifying what you’re good at, doing what brings you joy, and helping others in some way, big or small.
