Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Deal.
Hi Danielle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hey, I’m Danielle—a wife, a mom, and a full-time photographer. I started my business in 2020 during Covid, which was a risky time to begin something rooted in client interaction, but I needed a creative outlet. Photography had always been a love of mine, starting with landscapes and nature before naturally shifting into capturing people and their most meaningful moments.
My business didn’t truly take off until 2024, and I think that’s because I didn’t pour 110% into it until I after became a mother. Motherhood put everything into perspective for me. It made me realize how fleeting time is, and just how important it is to preserve memories that can be cherished forever.
What started small has grown into Danielle Marie Photography LLC, where I’ve had the privilege of traveling across the country, meeting incredible people, and preserving memories that will last for generations. I’ve always believed that photographs should feel timeless and genuine, so my work is rooted in warmth, storytelling, and creating images that let people relive not just how their day looked, but how it felt.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting my business in 2020 during Covid was a challenge in itself. It was a time when people were hesitant to gather, yet my work depends on being face-to-face with clients. In the early years, I struggled with self-doubt, inconsistent bookings, and trying to figure out how to stand out in such a saturated industry.
Another big hurdle was learning how to balance life as a wife, a new mom, and a business owner. There were seasons when I felt stretched thin and questioned if I could really make it work. It wasn’t until I leaned fully into my “why” that I found the drive to push through those struggles.
Looking back, the road hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it. Every obstacle shaped me into a stronger photographer and businesswoman, and those challenges ultimately fueled the growth I’m seeing today.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a full-time wedding and lifestyle photographer, offering wedding photography, family sessions, maternity, newborn, milestones, and content creation — both as add-ons and stand-alone services. I also host styled shoots to bring together creatives and create inspiring, editorial-style content.
What I do goes beyond just taking pictures. I specialize in creating timeless, emotive images that allow people to relive the feeling of their moments. My work is rooted in storytelling, capturing not only the big milestones but also the in-between details that make each story unique.
I’m best known for my warm, inviting style and my ability to make people feel comfortable in front of the camera. Clients often thank me for making their session feel natural and have an organic flow and it’s truly the highest compliment I could receive. I want every gallery to feel genuine, natural, and full of life.
What I’m most proud of is the trust people place in me to document their biggest days and most personal seasons. From weddings to motherhood sessions, I get to preserve moments that will become part of someone’s legacy, and that never stops feeling like an honor.
What sets me apart is the heart behind my work. I don’t just show up to take photos, I invest in the people I work with. I celebrate alongside them, and make it my goal to deliver images that not only look beautiful but feel deeply meaningful.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I’ve always believed that risk and growth go hand in hand. For me, taking risks has never been about being reckless, it’s about trusting that even if things don’t work out the way I planned, I’ll learn something valuable in the process.
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was opening my own photography studio. I felt strongly about creating a space that reflected my passions. It was financially risky, time-consuming, and ultimately, I had to make the hard decision to close shortly after opening but that experience shaped me in ways I’ll never regret. It taught me resilience, adaptability, and failure isn’t the opposite of success, it’s often a stepping stone toward it.
So while I wouldn’t call myself someone who seeks out risk for the thrill of it, I do embrace risk as a necessary part of creating the life I want. I think of it less as “what could go wrong?” and more as “what if this changes everything for the better?” Ultimately, if you never take the risk, you’ll never give the dream a chance to come to life.
