Meet Dr. Victoria Brown of The Beauty Academy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Victoria Brown.

Hi Dr. Victoria, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always had a passion for cosmetology industry. Watching my mom do hair sparked a spark that would grow into a blazing fire in me!

By 15, I was already styling clients, and my journey took an exciting turn when I initially pursued a degree in education. But my heart kept calling me back to the world of beauty—where I truly felt alive. At 21, I felt I had ran long enough and decided to enroll in cosmetology school, earning her Master Cosmetologist license!

At 24, I opened **Split Endz Salon and Hair Replacement Center LLC** in Perry, GA, and launched my very own line of hair care products—breaking barriers and setting trends. My talent and drive soon made me want to pursue becoming a platform artist! I have worked for industry giants like John Paul Mitchell, Patrick Bradley, Naked, Essations, and Advanced Coloration, sharing my artistry on national stages.

With more than two decades of experience and a fierce commitment to growth, I became a licensed Cosmetology Instructor in 2017 and earned my doctoral degree in Cosmetology in 2019. But my real passion was in shaping the next generation. In 2022, we founded **The Beauty Academy**, a vibrant cosmetology school where aspiring beauty pros learn, grow, and transform their dreams into reality. With four dynamic programs—Master Cosmetology, Esthetician, Nail Technician, and Cosmetology Instructor—we’re empowering students to shine.

Beyond my professional achievements, I get to work side-by-side with my mother, who retired from Walmart in 2023, sharing her legacy of hard work and excellence. For me, this isn’t just a career—it’s a mission to inspire, elevate, and revolutionize the beauty industry.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has certainly been anything but smooth. I’ve learned that obstacles are there to build our endurance– because it’s endurance that keeps us sustainable in the race. Some of those challenges required me to release parts of myself that no longer fit the new season I was stepping into, making space for growth and transformation.

I am proud of how we serve our community and students by offering scholarships through our retail sales! I love how we give our student’s a second chance at not giving up on their dreams of becoming an entrepreneur! We use professional products not only for our students to understand how to use them, but so that we can guarantee premium service to our guests with quality products.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory would be working on the farm with my grandfather… I would always complain on how hot it was and why were we the only kids that had to do farm work. He would always say, ” you may not see it today, but one day you will appreciate what I am showing you, I’m teaching you how to work.” He would never raise his voice, and he would always correct us gently… that sentence alone, I never forgot, and I carry it with me daily… I see the success of the good work ethic he built in me and my cousins…. and I appreciate him for that!
