Hi Gary, so great to have you join us again. For folks who might have missed our earlier conversations, can you please take a minute to briefly introduce yourself?
Gary, The Destroyer is a visual artist, pianist, rapper and producer out of West Atlanta, Ga. …Inspired by artist like Tyler, The Creator, Flying Lotus, and Saba, Gary The Destroyer brings diversity and abstraction to his artwork in every creation.
Who are some of your favorite artists that inspire you to be who you are today?
Like I mentioned earlier Tyler, The Creator, Saba, And Flying Lotus changed the way I looked at art and music. They make their own rules when it comes to creating their craft and i love the result of that. Free of judgment and care is what it takes to become the best artist you can be.
What’s drives you to create?
I breathe, eat, sleep art and music. If im not creating, I can’t live. I honestly feel like music, art and expression are essentials to live in this world today, and always been that way….otherwise we wouldn’t create. haha
How do you come up with the color palette for your paintings?
A lot of the colors I choose for my art pieces are pretty random to be honest, all I know is that I want every single color to pop off the work in it’s own way, so I try to make that happen….kinda a rule for myself
Do you have any advice for other artists out there?
Stay consistent, stay happy with yourself, YOU create your own worth as an artist, and Be YOU, cause if you’re not, who will be?
