Meet Gregory Goad of Woodstock

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gregory Goad.

Hi Gregory, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 2016, my wife Lauren and I moved back from Big Sky, Montana, and it was at that point a dear friend asked what i would do for work. I told him I’m not sure I’ve done all kinds of stuff, and frankly i am not too worried about finding work. He asked me if i had ever given real estate a thought, i told him a few folks had said I would make a good agent, but never knew how or what to do to get into the career. He said, well as you know i have been in the business for 16 years and now have my own brokerage, i could use some help with a specific client and would pay a small weekly salary for a year. It simply was an offer i couldn’t refuse.

I got licensed and began to work with my friend, his client was a large hedge fund and i was their aquistion guy for all of Atlanta. I cut my teeth writing offers for them, learning the transaction, and becoming super efficient at running transactions. About a year in i began to source my own clients through my sphere of influence. Now mind you, I am not from here i grew up in Augusta. My sphere consisted of folks i met in our church organization, 12 step recovery ( as I have been sober since 2007) , and mountain biking.

5 years in i made my first video for a high end listing that brought in over 100k views in a week, and mind totally shifted to what video marketing could and can do for our business. I realized that i just filled a sports stadium with one small video, there is no other way you could speak to that many people at once. Not too long after a couple guys i followed in Real Estate Video recahed out to see if i would be interested in joining this new style cloud brokerage. It took me a minute to unpack and get on board but saw the upside and the opportunity.

The Brokerage was Real Broker and really getting around other agents seeking video marketing for their businesses was key to my growth in my business. Learning how to create a business around my lifestyle and content to match it on social media. Shortly after moving i started a You Tube Channel to create community content and it began to bring in buisness. My social media grew along with my content strategy. Pairing all that together with my already growing local SOI my business really began to grow.

Shortly after covid my wife quit her corporate job and got licensed, she helps me with the back end our business. We have since grown to a small team of support. We have a full time TC, Licensed Assistant, and two VA’s.

Our office is now out of Collaborate Woodstock in Downtown Woodstock. My YouTube Studio is in my unfinished basement at our home in Canton. At Real Broker we have around 50 agent partners that we sponsor, i host a weekly Coffee event for local agents every Friday in DT Woodstock.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Figuring out to Lead Generation is everyones road block because there are so many different ways. Mine came about very organically over time in my sphere then pairing with our social media it has really taken off.
