Meet Henry Ukazu of Bronx, New York

Today we’d like to introduce you to Henry Ukazu.

Hi Henry, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 2008, I arrived in New York to further my education and get a better life. I attended New York Law School where I struggled to graduate with a master’s in taxation law (LLM) because I wasn’t wired to study tax law. Getting a job was hard because I didn’t have background and experience in finance. While searching for a job, I began working as a security officer. It was in the process I published my first book Design Your Destiny- Actualizing Your Birthright to Success.

The inspiration to write the book was to guide the younger generation to understand who they are through self-discovery; mentor them on how they can unleash their potentials and ultimately help to avoid the mistakes I made. The success of my book attracted New York Times, United Nations and News12 due to my youth advocacy work.

As a result of my passion to help youths, I formed Global Empowerment and Mentoring Initiative, a Human Capacity Development that focusses on self-discovery, mindset transformation and mentorship which I have used to mentor youths in middle school, High School, college students and at-risk individuals in the community.

The success of my first book inspired me to publish my second book Unleash Your Destiny, and the success of my business as a Human Capacity Development expert inspired me to publish third book The Six Pillars of Success.

My work has received national and global recognition from United Nations and Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award as celebrated trailblazer author and youth advocate

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The major obstacles I have is getting clients and funding to take the business to the next level. Another challenge I have experienced is systematic racism from perceived competitors.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
