Meet Jackie B.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackie B.

Hi Jackie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I discovered my talent at 9 yrs old. Sitting on my mother’s bed listening to TLC’s single Baby, Baby, Baby while playing with my doll. Following behind every note Chilli did. My very first solo performance was in 5th grade for Black History. My teacher didn’t believe I was capable of singing in front of a crowd. She never heard me sing either lol. If y’all could’ve seen the look on her red face.🤣🤣 Blew her clean out the park. lol

Anywho, I started singing alongside my sister and brother in our family music group “Twice As Hard” don’t ask me why that name cause I don’t know.🤣🤣 We’d travel throughout my hometown of Milwaukee, WI putting on various shows. Great times it was. I then became a solo artist at 19 and that’s when my career began pivoting. Lawd this ride has been well, a ride. Of a lifetime you hear me lolol. So much to tell, so little time. None the less I am here to share and bare it all☺️

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No such thing as a smooth ride when you didn’t come into the game with all the answers lol. There were a lot of struggles. However, my biggest struggle was not taking enough risks.
See here’s the thing, I’m a risky ( Within reason lol ) type of woman. In my younger days, I was really afraid of the word “alone” because I was always looking at life from a negative aspect. Now I feel like, if I don’t risk taking chances then I risk never knowing what I could’ve accomplished. I took a risk moving to Atlanta, GA with only $50 in my pocket lol. Thanks, mom.❤️🤣

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am CEO of JUSBNME Entertainment. The title speaks for itself☺️. I am known to many as the singer & Songwriter and others as the SpeakLyfe Advocate. So I am a Singer, Songwriter and SpeakLyfe Advocate. While I wear many hats these titles I hold dear because throughout my life of finding myself, I struggled with understanding who I was and to become. I had gifts that I really didn’t know how to operate. But grasping onto myself, loving and forgiving myself of past mistakes have allowed my confidence in self to grow to a point where my voice is heard by me first before the world. This is why I always say, “ Remember to SpeakLyfe into yourself first because if you don’t believe what you’re saying, how in the hell can you expect anyone else to?”

I am most proud of finding my voice. Yes, I can sing the house down. I love touching hearts. But I wasn’t touching mine enough to break cycles of depression or disbelief. SpeakLyfe was and is a message to self. I just decided to share with the world as I work on healing myself in hopes that someone else receives healing also. This is what sets me apart from others. I am addicted to my healing. I am willing to heal in front of people. I want people to see what it looks like to turn a mess into a message. Then add a few jokes every now and then. Hey I’m a maaaaajor goofball at heart🤣🤣. I love to laugh y’all 😊.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My mother. We didn’t always see eye to eye but one things for sure, she has pushed me since I was a child. Small fact. At four years old I taught myself how to read. No learning books, no schooling. None of that. My mother had a party and let me read amongst the family. To see how proud of me she was in that moment has stayed with me forever. I work hard to keep reliving that moment with her while she’s here☺️ Just to name off a few supporters, mentors, cheerleaders and other business colleagues; Kamia Johnson of Milwaukee, WI she’s a talent Scout and Manager of a few artists, Alyric Royale Singer, Songwriter, pianist, producer

Elaine E’ssential Singer, Songwriter, Vocal Coach Plus Size Model, Quinn Bartlett CEO, Model, Restaurant Owner, Actress, Nicole K Nolan Designer, Event Planner, Stylist, Business Guru, Shaneka Lavae Mental Health Therapist, Singer, Songwriter, Model…. These are just a few of the women I have in my corner. When I say iron sharpens iron. I am truly blessed.
