Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaymal Muzik.
Hi Jaymal , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story? Shit, it’s been a ride from day one. I grew up always around music — it was in the house, in the streets, in my damn DNA. I was hearing beats, watching people perform, and feeling that energy before I even knew I could make a career out of it. Music was never just something to listen to — it was everything, and I knew early on I wasn’t gonna sit on the sidelines.
Fast forward, I didn’t just want to be an artist — I wanted to run my own shit. That’s why I created Rockstar Record. I built that motherf*cker from the ground up, learning every side of the game — the creative, the business, the grind — so nobody could ever control my lane. Being independent is hard as hell, but I love that. It keeps me hungry, keeps me sharp, and keeps me in charge.
Discovering Michael Jackson was a game-changer for me as a kid. Watching that dude move and own the stage? Damn… it lit a fire that’s still burning. It made me realize music isn’t just about beats and bars — it’s about commanding attention, leaving an impact, and making people remember your name.
I’ve had my struggles — slow progress, people sleeping on me, obstacles that would’ve made lesser artists quit. But I never folded. Every challenge made me tougher, every setback made me sharper. I don’t chase the industry — I make it chase me.
Everything I’ve built as Jaymal Muzik (Dat Jay Dat Mal) and with Rockstar Record is proof that I move with purpose. I’m not here to play small. I’m here to dominate, make my mark, and leave a legacy that’s undeniable as hell.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My story damn sure wasn’t easy, and it definitely wasn’t smooth. I didn’t come into this with a big team or people guiding me — I had to figure this motherfucker out on my own. I had to learn how to make music, record, and move as an artist from the ground up, and that took time, patience, and a lot of trial and error.
One of the biggest challenges was staying consistent and believing in the vision when not everyone else could see it yet. I had to push forward without validation and keep improving my sound while learning the business at the same time.
The struggles didn’t break me — they sharpened me. Every obstacle made me more focused and more determined, and that’s why I move the way I do now. The challenges were never setbacks — they were preparation for where I’m headed. 🚀
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an independent artist who creates music that’s real, raw, and authentic. I specialize in building my sound from the ground up — writing, recording, and developing my own style as Jaymal Muzik (Dat Jay Dat Mal). My music reflects real experiences and real energy, and that honesty is what people connect with.
I’m known for being self-made and consistent. Everything I’ve built has come from my own drive and vision, without relying on shortcuts or waiting for opportunities. I take pride in being an artist who understands both the creative side and the business side, because that gives me full control over my direction.
What I’m most proud of is building my name independently and continuing to grow without losing my originality. Every project represents progress and shows how far I’ve come.
What sets me apart is my mindset and my work ethic. I’m not just making songs — I’m building a brand and a legacy. My sound, my vision, and my independence make me different from artists who follow trends. I move with purpose, and everything I create is meant to last. 🔥
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories was discovering Michael Jackson. Seeing his performances and hearing his music opened my eyes to what an artist could really be. It wasn’t just about singing or making songs — it was about creating a whole experience. Watching his videos and stage presence made me realize early on that music had the power to move people and leave a lasting impact. That inspiration stuck with me and played a big role in shaping my own passion for music.
Another memory I value is spending time listening to different kinds of music and imagining myself as an artist one day. Even as a kid, I could see myself performing and creating something people would remember. Those early moments helped build the confidence and vision that eventually pushed me to start making music seriously.
Looking back, those childhood experiences weren’t just memories — they were the beginning of the path that led me to become the artist I am today. 🎤✨
