Meet Joshua Browne of KAIOS Productions | RealViz | Fundraising Films

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Browne.

Hi Joshua , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey started with a camera, a curiosity, and a deep love for storytelling. I didn’t have a roadmap — just a drive to capture moments that moved people. Over time, that curiosity turned into a career. I built my first video production company from the ground up, shooting everything from indie projects to multimillion-dollar campaigns for brands across the U.S. and abroad.

But it wasn’t just about content — it was about impact. That’s what led me to launch Fundraising Films, helping nonprofits tell emotionally powerful stories to raise awareness and funds. And later, I created RealViz, which brings immersive visual experiences to the construction industry through time-lapse, drone, and 360° media — basically helping companies see their progress and share it with pride.

Today, I run a high-end production studio in Atlanta and Florida, and I’m constantly exploring new ways to merge art, tech, and purpose. The vision’s always evolving, but the mission’s the same: tell better stories that move people to action.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
“Has it been a smooth road?”

Not even close — and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. This journey has been full of peaks and valleys. Just last year, we celebrated 25 years in business, which is wild considering we were coming off one of our toughest chapters yet.

When the pandemic hit, we lost every live event production contract overnight. That forced us into a hard pivot — going fully remote and creating 100% digital video products almost exclusively for nonprofits offering housing grants and financial assistance to people affected by COVID.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: change is the only constant. From the days of tape to the rise of digital to now navigating AI — we’ve stayed relevant by embracing change, not resisting it. That mindset has become a superpower.

Is it tough? Absolutely. But the challenge of constantly having to adapt has turned into one of the things I love most about what I do. It keeps my mind engaged, helps channel my creative energy, and gives me a sense of forward momentum that works with my ADHD brain instead of against it.

Also — and this part matters — I wouldn’t have made it through without the generosity of others. There were so many people who showed up during hard times with advice, encouragement, or straight-up financial support. I’m incredibly grateful for that.

At this point, I’ve got thick skin and a steady hand. I’ve learned to roll with the punches — and keep building no matter what.

We’ve been impressed with KAIOS Productions | RealViz | Fundraising Films, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
KAIOS Productions has been at the forefront of high-end video production for 25 years, creating cinematic content for brands, agencies, governments, and artists across the country and internationally. We’re known for telling compelling stories with polish, emotion, and visual firepower — and for delivering a premium experience from concept to final cut.

What sets us apart? It’s not just the gear — it’s the intention. We obsess over details, work with purpose, and treat every project like it has the power to move people. That mindset has kept us relevant and in demand for over two decades.

More recently, we launched RealViz, our immersive visual service for the construction industry. Think of it as next-level storytelling through time-lapse, drone, and 360° visuals — helping builders and developers showcase their projects in a whole new light. It’s white-labeled, streamlined, and built to elevate how construction companies present progress and build trust.

Before that, we built Fundraising Films, a creative agency focused on empowering nonprofits to raise more by telling better stories. We’ve helped organizations across the country unlock millions in donations by connecting hearts to missions through powerful video content.

And most recently, we opened VisionLab Studio — a turnkey creative space built for business owners, creators, and thought leaders to produce top-tier content without the overhead.

Across all our ventures, what I’m most proud of is how we’ve evolved without ever losing our soul. At the heart of it all, we’re storytellers. Whether it’s a brand film, a builder’s showcase, or a nonprofit mission video — we help people see the bigger picture.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
One of my favorite sayings is: “There’s no trying in doing.” I’m a firm believer in taking risks. The higher the risk, the higher the reward. Playing it safe might keep you comfortable, but it rarely unlocks your full potential.

That said, I’m not talking about reckless leaps. Risk needs structure — clear objectives, solid planning, honest communication, and a real strategy. But at some point, you’ve got to move. Overthinking is the enemy. Some things you just can’t fully know until you’re in it — and that’s where your gut, your experience, and a little bit of faith come into play.

Business, to me, is iterative. Mistakes aren’t just part of the journey — they’re how you grow. The margin between what you know and what you figure out under pressure is where the growth lives.

I’ll never forget landing my first government contract just three years into business. The scope was massive, and honestly, I didn’t even have the gear to pull it off at the time. But when you’re thrown in the deep end, you sink or swim — and we swam. The film series we produced ended up winning a creative award and helped secure millions in grant funding for the client. That experience taught me that most limits are self-imposed. The box is in your head.

Take a chance and be great — that’s how I see it. But I also want to be real: I’ve made sacrifices that made risk-taking easier. I chose not to have kids, which gave me more flexibility. I relocated multiple times to places where production work was booming. And I left corporate for good back in 2010 to go all in on myself — something a lot of people dream about but can’t always do. I just want people to understand why I’ve been able to take the swings I have. It’s not magic — it’s intention, grit, and being willing to bet on yourself.
