Meet Katie Mansour of Camp Days

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Mansour.

Hi Katie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m born and raised in Atlanta. I spent some time in Washington, D.C., but moved back home about seven years ago with my husband and our family — and I’m so glad we did.
Over the years I’ve worked across a pretty wide range of industries: management consulting, politics, and startups. What’s connected all of it is that I’ve always loved building and executing a project from start to finish, and finding ways to make life a little easier for other people.
I’m also a mom of three, and these days all of my kids go to summer camp. That’s actually where Camp Days came from. Every Christmas break I’d find myself building yet another Excel spreadsheet to map out the summer, or scrambling last-minute to figure out school-break camps. Last summer, I finally hit my limit. I wanted one central, streamlined place where parents, caregivers, and camps could all come together — something that made camp planning organized and genuinely easier.
So I moved fast. I brought on Kelly Bowen Creative and a software engineering team, we put our heads down, and we went live in January 2026. It’s been a roller coaster, but I couldn’t be happier with where we are today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly? It hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road — but I also wouldn’t call it a huge struggle. There have been plenty of challenges and a lot of moments that have demanded everything from me and my team. But isn’t that exactly what building a company from the ground up is about?
A few things have been especially challenging. The biggest is time — I’ve been building Camp Days in the margins of an already full life, which means a lot of early mornings and late nights. Beyond that, I’ve had to teach myself a whole new set of skills along the way: marketing, Canva, negotiating contracts. There’s a real learning curve when you’re wearing every hat at once.
The hardest part, though, always comes back to time. I constantly feel like there isn’t enough of it. But I keep reminding myself that this is a marathon, not a sprint — and that the things worth building rarely happen overnight.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Camp Days is a research and planning tool built to take the stress out of one of the most chaotic parts of family life: figuring out what your kids are going to do when school’s out.
At its core, we help parents and caregivers discover, book, and organize kids’ camps all in one place. No more building a spreadsheet every Christmas break, no more scrambling last-minute when a school break sneaks up on you. We’ve done the initial research so families don’t have to — which means you can feel confident you’re making a good choice for your child without losing a weekend to browser tabs.
What sets us apart is that we’re not just a directory. We’re a true planning tool. We bring discovery, booking, and calendar organization together so the whole season actually makes sense. And we’ve built the platform around values that matter to the families we serve: inclusive access for kids with diverse needs and abilities, and privacy by design, so parents stay in control of what they share and with whom.
Brand-wise, I’m probably most proud of how warm and human the whole thing feels. It would have been easy to build something purely transactional, but we wanted Camp Days to feel like a knowledgeable friend who’s done the homework for you — intelligent and grounded in real research, but never cold or condescending. We know the mental load parents carry, and everything from our tone to our design is meant to lighten it.
If there’s one thing I’d want your readers to know, it’s this: camp isn’t just childcare. Research shows around 80% of campers report increased confidence after attending. These experiences genuinely help kids learn, grow, and thrive. Camp Days exists to make sure every family can find those opportunities — and actually enjoy the process of planning them.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love Atlanta — I was actually born right here at Piedmont Hospital, so this city is truly home for me.
There’s just so much to love. The food scene alone could keep you busy for a lifetime, and we’re always checking out new restaurants across the city. We’re a big sports family too — you’ll find us at Falcons, Braves, Hawks, and Atlanta United games whenever we can. And when we’re not doing that, we’re out exploring the parks and playgrounds, walking the BeltLine, or wandering the farmers markets on the weekend. There’s always something happening here.
My least favorite thing is probably the most obvious answer for anyone who lives here: the traffic. Some days it’s so bad it’s genuinely mind-blowing. But that’s the trade-off for living in a great metropolitan city — so I’ve made my peace with it. I just make sure the car is always stocked with snacks and drinks for whatever the day throws at us!
