Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyfe Journee.
Hi Lyfe, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
At the age of 22 I opened my own business in the city of Atlanta trying to escape the street life. Not like many young teens my age, I had to grow up really fast or get sunk into my reality, which was not comfortable. After leaving the street hustle and becoming an entrepreneur I gained a different insight on how to utilize my time and money, but not before being in business ten plus years for myself making mistakes and learning on my way what to do and what not to do.
In 2011 there was a shift and wave in the technology realm and my business was based on distribution and sales of the Djs nationwide that used stores like mine to get a buzz with their artist or their own careers. In the mist of that shift the building my store was located in was doomed for foreclosure something beyond my control. Thinking I would get a grip a bounce back in business after but things took another shift. Bad investments and bills piling lead me to become homeless and broke. I knew something had to give and shift I had a family to look after. That’s when decided to go and enroll in cdl school to start driving commercial vehicles. I put together a 3-5 year plan and worked. I am still working I am still growing and I will forever be a student to the school of life and it’s possibilities to reach and become my greater self. I have been homeless hungry and hopeless at times but I knew there had to be a greater purpose for my struggle
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Becoming homeless with my daughter only being in 4th grade No family help. Losing my mom at 27. Sleeping in my car outside in the carport of a house owned by my uncle. Looking up seeing my uncle walk pass my car and just look at me and kept walking. In my darkest time everyone and everything I thought I knew I found to be misinformed.
