Meet Marques Dockery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marques Dockery.

Hi Marques, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Growing up in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the most historical area of Murchison Road, I witnessed a lot at an early age. The reality of my life was surrounded by everyone who was impacted by the government system. They only knew how to survive day to day instead of living, which resulted in many different hustles of drugs and gang affiliation. Although this was my reality growing up, I knew I had a gift of being a creator by expressing myself through fashion. My gift would eventually change the world. Growing up, both of my parents played a huge role in my lifestyle. No matter how hard the financial struggle appeared to be for my parents, they always ensured my siblings and I never went without.

My father, who I referred to as Pops, is my biggest inspiration when it comes down to fashion and shoes. My favorite childhood memory of my father is my 5th-grade year in elementary school. He bought my first pair of green and yellow Bathing Apes by Souljaboy. During that time, my Pops also bought himself the Ice Cream Dunks by Pharell, who is now in the “billion-dollar boys club.” My childhood memories of growing up in an urban community and my lifelong friendships have played a huge role in how I created my clothing brand, “Queztion.’’ From my youthful days of playing basketball at Seabrook Park to my college memories at North Carolina A&T University- I hope one day my fashion brand will inspire anyone who has a creative dream to stay focused and to never give up no matter how challenging the journey gets. The road of entrepreneurship is truly a lifelong marathon that comes with many obstacles. Remember to trust the process.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
