Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Well, a lingerie line wasn’t exactly what I thought of when I first thought of businesses I would start. I remember being at one of my old jobs just trying to figure out a name for a different business venture and I came up with this name, “Luxurious Appeal”. For some reason, it didn’t stick to me, especially not for what I was doing at the time so I said, “I’m going to save this name for another business. I just don’t know what yet.”
Later down the line, some old friends and I planned a girl’s night where we all had to wear lingerie. At that time, I didn’t own one piece at all. I went to the store to find something for that occasion and it was just so hard finding something to fit my body shape perfectly. That probably was the first time I thought to myself, “hmm, maybe I can start a lingerie line for people that are shaped more like my friends and I.” Fast forward a little bit, I came back to the name and boom! Luxurious Appeal became the name for my lingerie line.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Anytime you venture off to do something outside of your comfort zone, there will always be obstacles. Getting the business started legally was the easiest part. Actually, getting it started and launched was a struggle. Sometimes your fear of something not being perfect enough can have you push back so much to the point you will never be ready. I had to literally stop being afraid within myself to get over the struggle I had of perfection, especially in a field I have never been a part of or have knowledge of. Once I overcame that, it became somewhat easier.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
In my opinion, I have always been a creative person but I also became very entrenched with as well once I started to get older. When it comes to the visual aspect of things and how you present yourself, I feel as if that’s important because how you look says a lot to people that don’t know you. I have always been known for having sex appeal but also being classy at the same time. Not showing too much but just enough where you leave the mystery to yourself has always set me apart from other people. Being able to provide others with something to enhance the sexy side of themselves, whether it’s for the public eye or personal, makes me the proudest. Helping to enhance a person’s sexy side or even build up their confidence a little more is what I love to do for others.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I think everyone has learned something interesting or important during this time. Personally, for me, it was interesting to find out even during a crisis where we aren’t going out at all, people still want to shop and look good in the house. Now some people were quarantined with their significant other and also separated from them as well which explains the spike in intimate apparel and loungewear during this time.
