Meet Natalie Pritchard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Pritchard.

Hi Natalie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am Natalie Lillian, I started Dazies Treasures in 2019 as a homage to my loving mother, Dazeline and a means of supporting The Robert A. PRITCHARD STROKE AND HEALTH INITIATIVE a 501c in Sugar Hill GA. The foundation was founded in honor of my only child Robert. Robert suffered a massive stroke after graduating with his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice at the age of 22 from The University of Central FL where he attended on a full scholarship. After his stroke and brain injury in July of 2012, he returned to Central Florida in August 2013 and obtained his Masters’s in 2015.

Today, he works at a Law Firm and living his best life. During his recovery, we had the support of so many amazing people that I decided that I needed to give back by supporting stroke survivors and their families. I started by volunteering twice a month with the Atlanta Brain Injury and the Shepherd Center and supporting The Scott Coopersmith Stroke Awareness Foundation in Orlando, Fl. My original plan was to make wrap skirts (something I did not know how to do at the time), and the proceeds from making the skirts was to be used to support the foundation. I choose wrap skirts because it was easiest to learn, quick to make, the most cost-effective and all women love a beautiful wrap skirt. In the process of learning to make wrap skirts, I discovered that I had the gift of sewing. Today Dazies Treasures is an online retail store where 10% of each sale is donated to the foundation.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would not say obstacles, but there were challenges. I worked a full-time job Monday to Friday volunteered twice a month all while learning to sew and embracing life. I welcomed these challenges because of the reasoning, my desires, my motivations and commitments.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I worked with Overland Solutions for 21 years, and due to Covid, I was laid off. Being laid off have allowed me to give 100% of my time to the foundation and Dazies Treasures.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
