Meet Nayari Dampier

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nayari Dampier.

Nayari Dampier

Hi Nayari, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Everything started from basketball, I’ve always worn #2, which is DOS in Spanish. During the basketball timeline, I was playing with my best friend, Corey; we met about 12 years ago & attended the same high school. After high school, we went to Georgia State fall of 2019 & started to resell our personal clothes out of our closet to make some money for ourselves. That’s how DOS Closet came about, we resold other brands such as Bape, Supreme, Nike & etc. A year goes by we wanted to sell items with our own brand name. So in January of 2021, we came up with DOS ATL, which stands for Don’t Overthink Style & of course, we’re based out of Atlanta. Another meaning the brand has two owners. We’ve been dominating streetwear ever since.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Our first ever drop got a lot of love but we wanted to go bigger & we just weren’t at that level yet. We had to learn about which manufacturers to go to, fabrics, weight of clothing & how we could market to expand the brand.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m Nayari Dampier, the Founder & Co-Owner of DOS ATL. I specialize in designing & marketing of the brand. I’ve always liked drawing since I was a kid, just shifted away from it when I entered high school. So I’m glad it made a full circle with coming back into my life for the better. I’m extremely proud of where we are now & where we’re going in the future. Future is bright & the vision is getting more clear. I feel like we’re so different from other brands because we are original & make items that a lot of people aren’t doing, that’s going to forever separate us.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I used to hoop my entire life until everything didn’t fall into plan at Georgia State.
