Meet Neariah Freeman of The Mirelle Collection

Today we’d like to introduce you to Neariah Freeman.

Hi Neariah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My business started in high school; at the time, I would sell bundles of hair here and there, not a lot of money but just something I was interested in doing. My name came from my middle name being Mirelle, and at first, The Mirelle collection was just a collection of hair types/bundles; before I expanded. During quarantine, I got the idea to do soft locs on my hair because they were trending at the time and they came out really good for it being my first time doing them. That day I got so many inquiries from people asking me to do their hair and that night, I made a price list. I never really thought that doing that would get me anywhere, but I began getting a lot of travel appointments to do clients’ hair in Atlanta.

In June, I moved into a suite working with my friend and business was going good for me to have just been starting. With all the new clients, I decided to expand services that I could provide and I took a nail class in July. Between July- now I’ve improved so much with nails that I offer that, plus my hair services for my clients. I am a full-time college student, so in-between time I was doing hair in my college town and traveling to all Atlanta customers. In December, I moved into my own suite and fully furnished it by myself! I loved having my own space, and it helped me a lot with not having to travel to my Atlanta clients anymore. The goal was to have multiple streams of income, no matter what service I was providing, but I felt as though the suite was taking up too much of my money & I needed something more. A couple of days ago, I moved into my own apartment in the city and I will now be doing all work from home. I wanted my life to be different when I decided to pursue this dream during quarantine and it has worked out amazing for me. I am so appreciative of everything and I thank God for it all because without him and without my faith, I don’t think I could’ve done it. Now I offer anything you can think of from nail services, Locs, ponytails, sew-ins, etc.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been smooth at all! When I first began my business, I went through a three-year breakup and that kind of was on my mind, as well as what I could do next. I also don’t have a good relationship with my mother, so during this time, I was also homeless outside of my home I had at school. I didn’t have a home to go to, which ultimately is why I needed to have my own home in the city. I will do anything to survive and chase my dreams, so I will always make it happen for myself! Because no one else is going to do it for you.

We’ve been impressed with The Mirelle Collection, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business consist of a one-stop shop. Here you will receive services ranging from soft locs, butterfly locs, passion twists, sewins, quick weaves and ponytails to services like acrylic full sets, overlays, and manicures. I think what sets me apart from others is I take pride in perfecting every client. Not one client will look better than the other, nor will any client ever be rushed on. I take my time on any and every client because I love to build relationships with the people I will be servicing. I want readers to know that it will always be great, professional vibes when being serviced by me. I plan to expand into the lash industry as well. Any and everything you need I can do in one place.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Hair is included for most services! Also, if you’re ready to get slayed while having a good time and great conversation, I am the place to come to!
