Meet Quinelle Holder of Medium Creative Agency, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Quinelle Holder.

Hi Quinelle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I originally got into the industry by way of urban fashion — streetwear specifically. I started helping one of my childhood friends run his brand back in 2009. To help promote the line, I started a fashion lifestyle blog called ‘The Red Tag Society’. Before I knew it, I wasn’t blogging because I was trying to sell T-shirts; I was writing because I’d developed a passion for documenting the culture. Soon after, I started interning with The FADER Magazine’s parent company Cornerstone Agency and started contributing to Philly’s staple Rap website HipHopSince1987. From there, I began to develop my journalism bone and went on sharpening my skills at D Dot Omen, Artistic Manifesto, SoJones, A3C, Karen Civil and eventually landed the role of Music Editor at New Music Cartel’s own MissInfo TV. As important as being a media personality was at the time, I wanted to do more. Enter “Q The Publicist.” After marrying my wife Sabrina, we moved to Silver Spring – Maryland where I landed my first executive gig as Head of Marketing for Warner Music distributed indie label IMG.

In 2015, I founded ‘Medium Creative Agency’ FKA ‘Medium PR Agency’ with the help of my wife. Under Holder’s direction, Medium Creative Agency worked campaigns for notable act’s including: BIA, Juice World, Lyrica Anderson, Gashi, Hit-Boy, LunchMoney Lewis, Arsonal Da Rebel, IDK, Beau Young Prince, OG Ron C & The Chopstars, Reazy Renegade, and Rico Love. In 2017, I was invited to join The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences’ DC Chapter. In the Summer of 2018, I joined Russell Simmons ‘brainchild All Def Digital as a PR Consultant. Later that Fall, he took the position of Senior Publicist for The Orchard (company)’s Urban Division. In 2020, Holder accepted the role of Sr. Director of Publicity for Heir Wave Music Group, a Virginia based record label owned by Pusha T. I left Heir Wave Music Group in December and I’m now the in-house publicist for Grammy-nominated triple threat LunchMoney Lewis’ LunchBox Records imprint. I’m also the curator for Audiomack’s #HometownHeroes DMV playlist.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My biggest challenges are finding “truly” like-minded people to help me build my empire and balancing my family life. The reason why I started my own company was to play by my rules. At times, it’s easy to get buried in work when no clear boundaries are set. At the end of the day, if my wife and daughter aren’t getting the proper love and attention, none of the stresses that come with this would be worth it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Medium Creative Agency aka MCA is a full service entertainment firm. Though our foundation is in the area of Music, we’ve expanded into the world of Tech, Fashion, and Sports. Speaking of the latter, we recently appointed our Director of Sports Marketing, Nilo Wright, who will lead the division with the acquisition of rising Philly boxer Jaron “Boots” Ennis.
Over the holiday break our VP of Brand Partnerships, Mason Taylor, made his professional debut by leading the Club House activation for Diddy’s Last Train To Paris (Album) / 10 Year Anniversary with Sonny Digital.
