Meet Rahyel Wiley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rahyel Wiley.

A member of the rap shadow Organization, 2ZDY, the artist known as Izzythedestryr (Codenamed HALODEMON), has been floating around the underground hip hop scene for close to a decade under the radar silently releasing music. His ever-evolving style and tendency to avoid the spotlight has led to a number of self-produced albums, such as “This Is What Failure Sounds Like” and last years, “Asshole’s Respite” (the latter heavily influenced by kendrick lamar’s TPAB)

Currently a faceless internet monster/Artist, Izzythedestryr was born from the mind of a man who lead his life in isolation. His father left in 95, leaving little more than memories and an old casio keyboard. Coupled with a great desire to learn how to rap, the MC, also known as the halodemon embarked on his journey outside of his own shell and into the world at large.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The main struggles have been fighting myself. Laziness, Depression, Arrogance, lack of inspiration and so on and so forth… it’s all a challenge. But no roadblocks could ever truly stop me. Izzythedestryr as a whole is about three people, really. A producer, A rapper, and the personality. These three tend to clash on the regular, leading to problems that could’ve been avoided. They are all temporary setbacks.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
What sets me aside is that I completely understand how relevant anything is in relation to how irrelevant it currently is. So no matter how obscure it might be, I understand with the appropriate time and money, anyone could change anything really. So what I’m getting at is Faith vs. Hope. Hope lacks confidence and faith doesn’t.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
A3c stage. Best performance I’ve ever done. Hands down. I can’t wait to perform again.
