I AmMiekaCreations was born from a passion for craftsmanship and a desire to bring unique and custom jewelry to people of all ages and genders. Founder and designer, Shamieka Corbett, who also holds the title of both mother and wife, was born and raised in Newport News, Virginia. During the challenging times of the pandemic, Shamieka turned to jewelry making as a creative outlet. What started as simple crafting projects soon blossomed into a full-time business, driven by her dedication to quality and her love for design.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We acknowledge that not every day is smooth. We face the real-world challenges of equipment failures and supply chain disruptions. But it is through these moments that our team’s resourcefulness truly shines as we always find a solution.

IAmMiekaCreations specializes in crafting custom designed jewelry using acrylic and plastic materials while focusing on pieces that reflect excellence and individuality. Each item is meticulously handcrafted with care and attention to detail, driven by the belief that jewelry should celebrate personal stories and allow everyone to express their unique identity. The brand is widely known for its significant pop culture moment, creating the viral “BIG MAMA” belt famously worn by Atlanta rapper Latto on The Jennifer Hudson Show. IAmMiekaCreations is also celebrated for pioneering the best custom name-style bamboo earrings and necklaces reminiscent of ’90s hip-hop fashion. Ive worked with someoe of the best celebrities including Taraji Henson, Caresha, Saweetie, ErickaJ, Trina, Kiana and so many others. We are most proud of the powerful connection our designs forge with our customers and the cultural impact of our viral pieces. What sets us apart is our dedication to merging high quality craftsmanship with bold, personalized expression and delivering jewelry that is not just an accessory, but a wearable statement of identity.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory isn’t a single event, but rather the consistent, electric feeling of getting dressed and feeling genuinely good about myself. That joy was reinforced by my grandfather, who always instilled in me the mindset that “you always have to look the part.” That phrase wasn’t just about clothes; it was about confidence, presence, and carrying yourself with purpose. That deeply ingrained belief is the very foundation of IAmMiekaCreations. It taught me that accessories, especially bold, custom pieces like our necklaces and the viral BIG MAMA belt, are not just embellishments, they are essential tools for expressing identity and stepping into your power.
