Who is the lady behind Mrs. Hall Candy Creations! Her name is Tameka Michelle Hall, born and raised Atlanta native. Holds a birthday on 9/11 which carries traits of a true Virgo! Mother of 2 beautiful girls & wife to an Atlanta Firefighter. She is a full-time Hairstylist, Event Stylist, Treat Instructor & Treat Maker! She lives a positive lifestyle, keep God 1st, values family & treasures true friendships! She is a beautiful soul inside & out and will do all she can to make someone else smile! She enjoys laughing, telling jokes & just having lots of fun! A true businesswoman who respects people’s time & refuses to let anyone down. She prides herself on always being on time & never late to a job. Tameka is someone who is respected by some of the top professionals in the industry due to her work ethics and quality of service but she is still somewhat of a hidden gem. I started Mrs.Hall Candy Creations two years ago after celebrating my daughters over the top sweet sixteen birthday party featuring Atlanta’s own artist Silento. I organized/decorated the entire event and prepared all amazing treats. Friends & family were blown away by what I had done. With no initial intentions of creating another business, the business begins to create itself. I instantly started to received calls about decorating for events and other calls on making treats for parties. At first, I was a little hesitant because this was something I did for family on different occasions but never something I did for income. I just loved doing it!

After getting over 1 million likes in a Party Mavens group on Facebook, I knew for a fact that I had something
more to offer other than hair services. I then signed up for a $200 candy apple class to enhance my craft & skills. I walked out winning the first-place prize in making the most creative apple! Of course, I posted all about the class and my winning first place against the other fellow learners. People were intrigued & the questions started rolling. People wanted to know where to sign up, how could they learn, and others were just interested in placing orders! Wellbeing the boss that I am, I began to take orders and also become an instructor of my very own class. I created a hands-on one on one class which was offered on my off days from the salon. The cost is $200 & so far I have taught over 20 people. Classes are still available & is open to anyone who wants to learn. This has become additional streams of income.

As I continued to grow & work a candy apple business, I getting a few calls for decorating events. I worked my butt off the entire first year just to get more of my worked viewed & noticed, taking jobs to only break even. I understood the process of starting out so not making anything, in the beginning, wasn’t an issue for me. I could see the bigger picture of what I was creating. I continued to push through & I built the inventory that I needed in the process. I now can finally see a profit for my services as a decorator. After a year of the hustle and bustle of my now four jobs, I get a call to do a party for Atlanta’s own Rick Ross for his daughters first birthday party! With only three days to prepare, I made a big impression with the celebration! Facebook goes crazy and as a newcomer to Instagram, I missed a big opportunity to get noticed by many. My Facebook following grew and the bookings have been nonstop! Now, with two years under my belt, I have created an additional three streams of income and the hard work is paying off. My ultimate goal is to open my very own event hall to accommodate weddings, parties, baby showers, etc… I have set a goal to have this completed and it shall be done. The opportunity to be interviewed by your Magazine just solidifies the next level to my journey and I am honored that you all will now be apart of my story! This is God’s work and his hidden gem will shine bright as the sun. Her name is Tameka Michelle Hall and she is here to make a name for herself and also help inspire others through her journey! Thanks so much.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The struggles have been working my full-time job still as a hairstylist & family balance. God has created space for the additional gifts but it’s still a struggle of balance. My family is very supportive and helps me with most events but building a business from the ground up takes me away from who I use to be as a mother and wife. We have missed two years of family vacations due to the demand of the growing business. Since I have committed myself to take this as far as I can, I am proud that my two teen girls get to witness what black girl magic really is! I do it for them and other up and coming entrepreneurs. You can do anything you put your mind to!
