Meet Tanesha L. Matthews of Endow’d Intimates in Sandy Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanesha L. Matthews.

Tanesha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2016, I was fed up with the everyday struggle of finding the proper bra that fits my full-size bust, so I thought of this idea of creating a bra line for well-endowed women like myself. At the time, I was busy working my 9 to 5 job in another state and simultaneously enrolled in the Entertainment Business Master’s Program at Full Sail University. I was thinking out loud how and when can I possibly make this happen. It wasn’t until I was back in Atlanta permanently in 2018, and I started legalizing the company in 2019 and getting all the business logistics together.

Endow’d Intimates, LLC is still in the beginning stages of working on the prototype to create the perfect bra for the well-endowed women sizes G to LL. Women in this bra size range develop debilitating pain due to insufficient fit, support and comfort. Because there’s a lack thereof for the generously endowed women, I’m creating a better bra because these women have long been an overlooked demographic for attractive and functional lingerie. Endow’d will be specifically designed with the goal of alleviating neck, shoulder and back pain caused by poor fit and quality.

Because I’m literally the poster child and can attest to what these women are going through, I want to make sure the Endow’d Intimates bra is flawless and designed to serve its purpose. When Endow’d Intimates launches, we will be specifically sold online and will be doing pop up shops not only in Atlanta but around the country. By me struggling all my adult life finding supportive, comfortable, and sexy bras and intimate apparel, I want to solve this problem and help millions of other women that face the same thing.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road at all. I thought of this idea four years ago, and by me working my 9 to 5 and going to school to receive my Master’s, I just didn’t know when I would do it. I never forgot about my idea and when I thought of something that could possibly help me and the brand I was trying to build, I made sure I made a note of it. I also was moving around with working various government contract jobs in different states, so I was also focusing on trying to keep the bills paid. I also struggled with bringing the wrong people abroad into my company which turned out to be a heavy disaster and a step back along the way so I had to regroup and move along with my idea myself and do everything myself, being careful of who I want to be apart of this journey.

I have a lot of people that are taking interest of coming along with me however, going through several business partners who tried to strike up bad deals, and do things without my knowledge and consent has me really guarded with my company. I don’t want the same setbacks I faced with other former staff members so I have been working with my consultant on how to avoid the same things from happening again. I’m really confident and cautious at the same time, now I know exactly what I want within my company and who I want which is a team that will follow the same business practice as I will

Please tell us about Endow’d Intimates.
Endow’d Intimates LLC is an upcoming bra line serving women in bra sizes G to LL, providing support and comfort to alleviate neck, back and shoulder pain. What I’m most proud of is where I am today with the company, just focusing on helping the millions of women with bra fitting issues creating the perfect flawless supportive bra. What would set me apart is we will be specializing in the generously well- endowed women.

Also, I’m a specialist at what I do. I’m constantly researching fit issues and I’ve taken bra fitting training and different classes to become the expert I feel that I am now. I’m now a “Bra Whisperer” and I also get feedback from women through surveys and interviewing them on what is their most common fit issue they have when it comes to the proper fitting bra. I’m also developing a podcast to talk to women live on these issues.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I would say the good luck played in my life and business is me completely my master’s degree in Entertainment Business which focuses you on the aspects of becoming an entrepreneur. That was the basis of the entire program. Plus, Full Sail has yearly alumni networking events and I met some awesome people on the way that I’m friends with to this day. I also do freelance publicist work on the side sometimes, so I’ve networked and met some great individuals that can help me with my company and life goals.

The bad luck is when I connect with the wrong people and I have to regroup if I get involved with them and they’re really not for me. I trust people too easily but the whole time it was a role they would have been playing just to see how far I am with my business. Also, not having the real support of people who supposed to be your family and friends. I haven’t let any of it stop me, I just press on.
