Meet Taye Martin of Anew ME Entertainment Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taye Martin.

Hi Taye, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story honestly started with a Bluetooth speaker, an iPad, and a whole lot of faith. Before any of this, I worked in the medical field right up until COVID hit. Music had always been part of my life growing up. I played clarinet, piano, and percussion, but somewhere along the way I learned exactly what a “struggling musician” looked like. Real life kicked in, responsibilities showed up, and once you become a parent, your dreams sometimes get pushed to the back burner while survival takes the front seat. So I stepped away from music and focused on building a stable career.

Fast forward about seven years ago, and somehow life circled me right back to music in the most unexpected way possible. I used to host parties at my house all the time, and people constantly complimented my playlists and the vibe. One day, a friend asked me to DJ her holiday party. I told her, “I’m not a DJ. I just have a really loud Bluetooth speaker and confidence.” She paid me $50 anyway.

A few months later, someone booked me for a Father’s Day event. Same Bluetooth speaker. Same iPad. Somehow, $200. Then somebody asked me to MC a birthday party. Another $200. At this point, I’m thinking, “Wait a minute. People are paying me to press play and talk loudly into a microphone?” But the crazy part is, the gigs just kept coming.

Eventually I decided it was time to invest in real DJ equipment. That’s when reality humbled me immediately. I bought an entire professional setup and quickly realized I had absolutely no clue what I was doing. The equipment literally sat in my formal living room for three months because I couldn’t even figure out how to connect everything. It looked less like a DJ setup and more like a spaceship control panel.

I reached out to several local DJs asking if I could apprentice under them. I even offered to work for free just to learn the business. Most ignored me, and the few who responded were not interested. So I did what most people do nowadays. I enrolled in YouTube University.

Through countless tutorials, mistakes, practice sessions, and probably enough tangled wires to qualify as a fire hazard, I slowly taught myself how to DJ for real. What started as a side hustle accidentally turned into a passion, then a business, and eventually a purpose.

Looking back now, none of this was planned. I never woke up and said, “One day I’m going to build an entertainment company.” It truly was a faith walk. Every opportunity led to another opportunity, and every challenge forced me to grow. Now I get to create unforgettable moments for people while doing something I genuinely love, and it all started with a Bluetooth speaker, an iPad, and a $50 holiday party.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Honestly, when you walk by faith, things have a funny way of falling into place. That does not mean everything was perfect, but I can genuinely say I have been blessed throughout this journey. I have not had some dramatic “sleeping in my car while carrying turntables uphill” type of story. My biggest struggle was probably figuring out DJ equipment without electrocuting myself or accidentally unplugging the music at the wrong time.

Of course, there were moments of doubt in the beginning. Walking into rooms full of experienced DJs while I was still learning felt intimidating. There were plenty of nights watching YouTube tutorials thinking, “There is no way all these cords are necessary.” Half the battle was learning the equipment, and the other half was convincing myself that I actually belonged in this industry.

One thing I will say is that consistency and faith carried me further than fear ever could. Every event led to another opportunity. Every client told somebody else. Before I knew it, what started as me showing up with a Bluetooth speaker and confidence somehow turned into a real business.

I think the biggest lesson for me has been understanding that you do not have to have everything figured out to get started. If I had waited until I felt fully prepared, I probably never would have begun. Sometimes you just have to trust God, press play, and hope everybody likes the playlist.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Anew Me Entertainment Group is more than just a DJ company to me. I truly feel like we create experiences that people remember long after the last song ends. Anybody can press play on a playlist, but I pride myself on creating energy, connection, and moments people talk about for years. Whether I am DJing a wedding, hosting a corporate conference, rocking a school event, or bringing life to a community celebration, my goal is always the same. I want people to feel something.

What really sets me apart is that I am not just a DJ. People know me as “The Dancing DJ” because I am an emcee, line dance instructor, motivational speaker, comedian, and officiant all rolled into one. Honestly, half the time people book a DJ and end up getting a full show. One minute I am mixing music, the next minute I am teaching a line dance, motivating the crowd, cracking jokes with grandma, or helping somebody celebrate one of the biggest moments of their life.

I think another thing that separates me is my ability to truly read a room. I do not believe in cookie cutter playlists or showing up and doing the same exact thing at every event. Every crowd is different, every celebration has its own vibe, and I love creating an atmosphere that fits that moment perfectly. My style is very interactive and high energy, but still professional. I know when to turn the party all the way up and when to let a meaningful moment breathe.

We also offer special effects and event enhancements that really take events to another level. From Dancing on the Clouds and Cold Sparks to uplighting, confetti cannons, fog bubbles, monogram projections, silent disco experiences, snow machines, vertical fog, karaoke, and more, I love helping clients create those jaw dropping moments their guests never forget. I always tell people we are not just providing music. We are helping create movie moments in real life.

One thing I am extremely proud of is how organically this business has grown. This was built completely off faith, consistency, hard work, and word of mouth. There was no big investor or overnight success story. I literally started with a Bluetooth speaker and an iPad, and now I have been blessed to become a two time WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Award winner and be named Best in Georgia in 2025.

I have also had the opportunity to be featured on several media platforms, including a national appearance on VH1’s My Celebrity Dream Wedding, and being spotlighted in Entrepreneurs of Atlanta for my work and impact in the entertainment industry. But honestly, what I am most proud of is the trust people place in me. People are allowing me to be part of some of the most important moments of their lives, and I never take that lightly.

At the end of the day, I want people to know that my brand is built on passion, authenticity, faith, professionalism, and good energy. I am not just there to play music. I am there to create memories, bring people together, and make sure everybody leaves saying, “That was an experience.”

What are your plans for the future?
Honestly, I am excited about growth. Not just growing bigger, but growing better. My goal is to continue building Anew Me Entertainment Group into a brand that people instantly connect with professionalism, energy, and unforgettable experiences. I want the company to become a household name not only in Atlanta, but nationwide.

One thing I am really focused on is expanding the entertainment experience beyond just DJ services. I want to continue growing our special effects and interactive entertainment offerings so clients can truly customize their events and create those “wow” moments. I love being creative and bringing ideas to life, so I am always looking for new ways to make events feel bigger, more immersive, and more memorable.

I am also looking forward to doing more speaking, hosting, and motivational work. A lot of people know me as the Dancing DJ, but I genuinely enjoy inspiring people too. My journey started with faith, a Bluetooth speaker, and a willingness to learn, so I hope my story encourages other people to stop overthinking and just start. If I can help somebody believe in themselves a little more, that means a lot to me.

Another big goal for me is mentoring and helping upcoming DJs and entertainers. When I first started, a lot of doors were closed on me, and I had to figure things out on my own through trial, error, and YouTube University. In the future, I would love to create opportunities, training, and resources for people who are trying to break into the entertainment industry but just need somebody willing to pour into them.

I am also excited to continue building bigger partnerships, traveling more, and creating experiences on larger stages. Whether that is weddings, corporate events, festivals, television opportunities, or community events, I just want to continue evolving and pushing the brand to new levels.

At the end of the day, I just want to keep walking by faith, staying authentic, and enjoying the journey. Everything that has happened so far still feels surreal sometimes, so I can only imagine what God has planned next.
