Meet Trailblazer Toneisha Renee Fair

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toneisha Renee Fair.

Toneisha Reneé Fair is a Jersey born but Georgia raised, successful entrepreneur, business owner, motivational speaker, physique bodybuilder competitor and a single-mother of two.

Her appearances on Good Morning America Strahan and Sara and as the keynote speaker for the Sister United Power of Women Gala in 2018, have positioned her as a leading voice for empowering women entrepreneurs and to those who have suffered at the hands of domestic violence.

Toneisha was no stranger to domestic violence as she played witness to her father physically and mentally abusing her own mother. Too often these destructive patterns repeat themselves and that was the case for Toneisha.

Eleven years ago, Toneisha found herself in the midst of a toxic child custody battle, making ends meet through exotic dancing, and suffering at the hands of her own abuser.

The single mother of a 4-year-old daughter endured years of verbal and physical abuse ensued, but a severe car accident and the ensuing life-threatening injuries would ultimately give her the courage to say enough and leave her abuser.

The road to recovery was difficult, but after regaining her strength and returning to work, she met a co-worker who happened to be a Pastor. She confided in him about her pain as a domestic violence victim. He restored Toneisha’s faith, and she gained strength through her newfound spirituality.

Toneisha would eventually find joy and relief in the last place she could imagine, the gym. She hired a personal trainer who helped her not only transform her body but the way she viewed herself.

Looking to push herself out of her comfort zone she entered the world of competitive bikini competition. It allowed her to reclaim her self esteem, her self-worth, freeing her from the burdens of years of pain and unhealed wounds. In her 1st and 2nd competitions she placed 5th in her category.

With a new sense of direction and pride, it was time to be fearless. In March of 2017, she launched Diamond Minks Lash Studio in Midtown Atlanta which is home to clients such as Faith Evans and Celebrity Chef Deborah Vantrece.

What started off as a side business has now transformed Toneisha into a successful businesswoman and motivational speaker, taking her testimony to the thousands of women in similar situations. She bet on herself and won, and now hopes to provide transitional care for women and young girls in similar situations.

Her remarkable story is one of survival, courage, strength, faith and triumph, despite unspeakable and unimaginable abuse. Toneisha is a woman of passion, conviction, faith and purpose. Her message is for both young and old, men and women alike.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I had to start when I wasn’t ready because the challenge of working a corporate job wasn’t enough. I had two girls at home, working all day and night just to make ends meet wasn’t ideal. When they cut my overtime at work I had to do something. I stepped out on faith and thought the lash business was perfect for me because I would do it as a side hustle and I loved getting my lashes done. Win-win for me. Once I got into the industry, I felt like there was something missing. No one was giving the clients the kind of attention they deserved. The bonus was I could do it at home and not be away from my kids. I knew I could do what everyone else was doing but do it better with passion. I never wanted my clients to hype up my service, I wanted their experience to be authentic and speak truthfully to their friends when talking about my business.

My advice to women is to step out on faith. Start even if you feel like you’re not ready.

We’d love to hear more about Diamond Minks Lash Studio.
I’m a business owner, motivational speaker and NPC Bodybuilder Competitor. My specialty is applying mink lashes. I’m known as the Professional Lash Boss of Atlanta.

I’m most proud of my Diamond Mink lash line. I teach women who have come out of domestic violence relationships how to apply my exclusive Diamond Mink Lashes so that they can enhance the beautiful women that they already are and build self-esteem.

The thing that sets me apart from others is my professionalism and my relationship with my clients. I get to know my clients on a personal level and I pour into them my positivity and energy. My business is a place of peace. It’s tranquil and allows my clients to let it all go and feel free to be themselves. When they leave they’re reenergized and feeling like the weight on their shoulders they came in with is no longer there because they’re spiritually aligned.

Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
Watching the relationship between my mother and father was not easy. I saw my father hit my mother on a regular basis. I never in a million years thought that I would find myself in the same situation as a grown woman. I survived 11 years of abuse, torment and a near death car accident. That alone would’ve broken most people but it made me stronger, more confident and more determined. I told myself if I could survive all of that, being a businesswoman and entrepreneur wasn’t going to stop me either.
