Meet William Walker of Mud Diamonds Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to William Walker.

William Walker

Hi William, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m just a small-town kid from Aberdeen, MS. I moved to Atlanta with my best friend to pursue music I ended up going to the Art Institute of Atlanta and graduating and that’s when I started my production company M.Muddiamond Productions. I’ve been operating for a few years now but the pandemic kinda slowed business down. I rap, do audio for video shoot videos etcetera. Some stuff I’m better at than other things but I work on them every day. I Engineer all my own music and do the mixing I have some good people I work with that does my nadtering that I’ve been dealing with for years now back home in Mississippi. I’ve came a long way from where I started I give the young guys from my city hope I speak for them when I say we are the hardest in the world just overlooked but I’m going to Fox that.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been smooth at all lol moving away from everything I was familiar with and having to rebrand myself was hard. Gaining new fans and building new relationships you know I was by myself now so I had to make it all work on my own. Had folks lying to me all the time like they were going to help with this and that lol trying to get money for studio time meeting big-name people in the industry and all they say is to keep grinding lol but I kept my head up and stayed in school and finished in 2017 and just started doing everything myself and my way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Mud Diamonds Productions?
My whole goal is to run a pipeline to my city and help the artists back home and get our music heard on a global scale. Do some movies and just make some people rich (birdman is my idol) I always wanted to run a company like Birdman Independent Billionaires from the small south and I’m going to make it happen or try until my last breath.. we offer artist development, audio recording, mixing, mastering, video services, and Live interviews to name a few. The thing in most proud of is just having something I love that when I’m finished my name will be set in stone as a pioneer in music from my small town and made it all global for everybody that wanted it as well.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I mean what works for me might not work for the next, so my advice is to just put as much time into what you love and wanna do just as much as you put gone into the other stuff you love that don’t bring you no money.
