We recently had the chance to connect with Natalie Lillian Pritchard and have shared our conversation below.
Natalie Lillian , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
For a long time, I held back from speaking boldly about The Robert A. Pritchard Stroke & Health Initiative—out of fear, grief, or uncertainty.
But not anymore.
💬 I now know my voice carries purpose.
💔 My story carries healing.
💙 This foundation carries hope—for survivors, caregivers, and families who need it most.
I will no longer be quiet about a mission that was born from pain but built to serve with love.
This work MATTERS to my community, and I’m ready to speak up and stand tall.
Let’s talk about stroke prevention. Let’s support caregivers. Let’s fund resources. Let’s change lives.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Natalie Lillian, the visionary behind DaziesTreasures and the founder of The Robert A. Pritchard Stroke & Health Initiative. I’m a fashion designer, philanthropist, and advocate for stroke awareness, blending creativity with purpose.
DaziesTreasures is more than just a fashion brand it’s a celebration of Boho chic, Afro-fusion, bold self-expression, and size-inclusive designs that empower women to wear their confidence out loud. From ready-to-wear resort looks to custom statement pieces, each design carries a story of resilience, culture, and beauty.
Our work is deeply personal. The foundation was born from my son’s journey as a stroke survivor, and today we raise awareness, fund scholarships, and support survivors and caregivers through fashion, storytelling, and community outreach.
Right now, I’m excited to be working on our 4th Annual Fashion Show and Fundraiser a powerful evening merging style and purpose while honoring survivors and showcasing Boho Chic and Afro-fusion fashion. We’re also launching new collections, expanding our youth and maternity lines, and a partner in developing a Children’s Hospital in Liberia.
Through it all, I’m committed to using fashion as a voice one that heals, uplifts, and inspires.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationships that have most shaped how I see myself are the ones I hold dearest: my relationship with my mother and my son.
My mother is my foundation, her strength, resilience, and her quiet sacrifices are woven into the fabric of who I am. She taught me grace under pressure, how to give without asking for anything in return, and how to rise, when life doesn’t play fair. Through her eyes, I learned what it means to be a nurturer, a fighter, and a woman of faith.
And then, there’s my son Robert. Being his mother reshaped my entire world. Loving him taught me a new kind of strength, a fierce, protective and all-consuming love that redefined purpose. His journey being a stroke and brain injury survivor, especially through pain and healing transformed me. He made me realize that life is not about perfection, but about presence. Through him, I discovered courage I never knew I had and a mission far greater than myself.
Together, these two relationships anchor me. One gave me life and taught me how to live it with grace. The other gave me purpose and showed me how to fight for what matters.
Because of them, I see myself as a woman of strength, compassion, and unwavering purpose.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of the defining wounds in my life has been watching my son survive a massive stroke and brain injury. It was a moment that shattered everything I thought I knew to be truth. As a mother, nothing prepares you for seeing your child in pain and not being able to fix it. That experience left a deep emotional wound rooted in grief, helplessness, and fear.
But it also became the turning point in my life.
Healing didn’t happen overnight. It came in stages through faith, therapy and the support of my village, I found my purpose purpose. I began to heal when I realized that my pain had a greater calling: to serve, to speak up, and to build something that could help others walking a similar road. That’s how The Robert A. Pritchard Stroke & Health Initiative was born. It became the vessel for my healing and my son’s story became a message of hope.
I’ve learned that healing doesn’t mean forgetting or erasing the wound—it means honoring it, learning from it, and choosing to turn it into something meaningful. My wound gave me a mission. And that mission now helps others heal, too.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A belief I’m deeply committed to, no matter how long it takes is that healing and purpose can rise from pain. And the project that embodies that belief is The Robert A. Pritchard Stroke & Health Initiative.
What started as a response to the traumatic experience of almost losing my son to a massive stroke has grown into a lifelong mission. I believe every survivor deserves access to care, every caregiver deserves support, and every family should be equipped with knowledge, hope, and community. I’m committed to building hospitals, offering scholarships, and creating platforms that empower voices often left unheard.
It’s not just a project it’s a promise. And I’ll keep showing up for it, however long it takes.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
“My Peace Lives in Purpose”
I find peace in purpose whether it’s supporting the mission of The Robert A. Pritchard Stroke & Health Initiative or creating custom looks through DaziesTreasures.
There’s a joy in uplifting others, listening to their vision, and designing pieces that make them feel powerful, beautiful, and seen.
Every stitch tells a story. Every look is more than fashion it’s a reflection of purpose, healing, and legacy.
