We’re looking forward to introducing you to Rebecka Jean-Baptiste . Check out our conversation below.
Hi Rebecka , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately I’ve been finding joy in the small introspective spaces I create for myself especially through aerial yoga, solo gym sessions, walking, and intentional moments of beauty. There’s something deeply healing about moving my body, reconnecting with myself to tune out the noise, and expressing my creativity through makeup. Even on emotionally heavy days, these outlets help me stay grounded, present, and in love with the process of becoming.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Rebecka J. , and I’m a makeup artist, creative visionary, and energy-driven storyteller. Through my brand, I specialize in bridal glam, editorial looks, and transformative beauty experiences that go beyond the surface. What makes my work unique is the intentional energy I pour into each client I don’t just apply makeup I help people feel seen, celebrated, and empowered in every season of their life.
I’ve always believed beauty is spiritual a way to connect to self-worth, healing, and identity. That’s why I’m currently expanding my brand to include more wellness-aligned content, from self-care to guided looks or even talking about the ins and outs that people typically don’t discuss that honors every phase of a woman’s journey.
Right now, I’m also working on more projects, E-books, and collaborations that blend inner and outer beauty. My story is still unfolding but everything I do is rooted in authenticity, resilience, and divine timing.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was lost. I moved through different jobs medical, dental, skincare searching for my “purpose” thinking each role might lead me to myself. But they were placeholders. I didn’t know who I was because I wasn’t listening to myself. My inner voice was quiet, my natural gifts hidden beneath what I thought I should be. It wasn’t until I chose to place myself first to trust what I wanted from life that I found direction. & I knew it was going to be hard especially dealing with anxiety and being socially introverted but life comes with risks, and sometimes the only way forward is to leap. And that’s what I did.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
For a long time, I wore silence like armor. I smiled through the heartbreak, showed up even when I was exhausted, and poured into others while quietly draining myself. I thought strength meant hiding the pain not being a burden, not letting anyone see me break.
But the truth is, the most powerful shift happened when I stopped pretending I was okay. When I started speaking up. When I allowed myself to cry, grieve, and still move forward. That’s when I took back my power.
I started transforming my experiences every loss, betrayal, and disappointment into something meaningful. Into art. Into beauty. Into healing not just for myself, but for others watching silently, needing permission to do the same. My pain didn’t make me weaker. It made me honest. And that honesty became the foundation of my power.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say what matters most to me is staying true to myself, uplifting others, and never losing sight of my purpose. I’m often remindsd that I pour into people and projects with heart, without comparing or looking down on anyone. They’d say I lead with intention, that I care deeply about making people feel seen whether it’s a client in my chair or someone watching from afar. I’ve been told I move with grace, even when it’s hard and that my drive, consistency, and humility are what keep me aligned and rising.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say I was the kind of person who made them feel seen, even in their most hidden moments. That I had the courage to speak the truth when it hurt, and the softness to hold space when words weren’t enough. I hope they say I didn’t just chase success, but looked for meaning that I turned pain into purpose and made art from the pieces. That I left them better than I found them. And above all, that I loved fully, wildly, and without conditions
