Today we’d like to introduce you to Amore William Ayala.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Amore William Ayala (Thee Amour) Newark NJ’s born. A self-taught fashion designer, designing since the fourth grade. Discovered by his aunt Rosa Garcia (Miss Diva), an aspiring singer and model. Amore started his career as a child model learning all he could on and off the runways. From model training, creative director work and styling for numerous productions. Under the guidance and direction of his aunt and Tyrone Chablis (NJ Fashion Designer) and later his Mentor and greatest inspiration, Angel Claudio (NJ Fashion Designer), who sadly passed away in 2005.
His fashion brand AYALA Couture & Apparel meets high glamour and fantasy perfectly in the middle. A mixture of high-end couture pieces and comfortable yet stylish urban wear. “The details matter I’m very hands-on, everything from hair to makeup, even the shoes I have to pick. AYALA is my baby” Based in Atlanta, this fashion guru is also a Nail technician! Talk about a one-stop shop. He was recently featured in International French fashion magazine Malvie. He is currently working on his new line and training a group of young models along with his muse and “runway daughter” Jalen Coleman. “I’ve had Jalen since she was eight years old been her trainer and mentor since. She is one o the main reason I didn’t stop designing the closest thing I have to a real child. She’s my mini-me; you see her you understand AYALA.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all! I almost gave up, it just seemed like the money, opportunity or time just wasn’t there. It also was a time I wanted my work to be seen so bad or wanted the gig that I would just do it. For little to no pay…. most times no pay. I had designs and ideas stolen and credit taken for my works more times then I can count.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a fashion design and Nail technician. I specialize in custom event pieces. Known for Couture luxury and my Styling/Creative director work. Most proud of not giving up and sharing my gifts. What sets me apart? My fashions speak to all ages everyone can appreciate it no matter your style or age.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Do what you love and love on everyone everyday.
