Today we’d like to introduce you to Britainy Murphy.
Hi Britainy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into permanent makeup started in a way I never expected. I had always been interested in the beauty industry, but I assumed it required years of schooling, which just wasn’t realistic for me at the time. In 2021, I had my brows done by an artist who would later become my trainer, and during that appointment, I found myself asking her a lot of questions about how she got started.
I was surprised to learn that she became certified, trained, and licensed through a more direct path. That conversation completely shifted my perspective and made me realize this was something I could actually pursue. She offered training herself, and I decided to take the leap and invest in learning the craft.
After completing my certification, I dedicated myself to practicing and building my skills. I officially started my business in March of 2022, working out of my home during the tail end of COVID. It was a humble beginning, but it gave me the foundation to grow.
As my client base expanded, I was able to transition into a full salon space in Buford, Georgia in 2025, which was a major milestone for me. I’ve now been in the industry for several years, and it’s truly become my passion.
What I love most about this work is the confidence it gives my clients. Being able to enhance someone’s natural beauty and see that transformation is incredibly rewarding. It doesn’t feel like work to me—it’s something I genuinely enjoy every day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely wasn’t a completely smooth road. There were a lot of challenges along the way, especially on a personal level. At the time, I was balancing a marriage, raising two children, and working full-time in medical sales while trying to build my business on the side. It required a lot of discipline, late nights, and staying focused on what I ultimately wanted for my future.
Even with those challenges, I knew this was something I was truly passionate about, and I didn’t want to give up on it. As my business started to grow, I made the decision to invest in myself by hiring a marketing and advertising team to help me reach more clients and build brand awareness. That played a big role in helping me grow my clientele and take things to the next level.
Once I felt confident and had built a steady client base, I took a big leap and signed my first salon lease in Buford in July of 2025. That was a major turning point for me. Since then, I’ve continued to grow and focus on building a business that I’m proud of.
Looking back, the challenges were a big part of what shaped me and pushed me to keep going, even when things weren’t easy.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in permanent makeup, with a focus on natural-looking brows and lip blush. My goal with every client is to enhance their features in a way that still feels like them—just more defined, balanced, and effortless. I offer services like combination brows, powder brows, and lip blush, and I really take my time customizing each service to the individual’s face, skin type, and lifestyle.
I’ve become known for creating soft, natural results that heal beautifully. A lot of my clients come to me because they want something that doesn’t look overdone—they want to wake up feeling put together without heavy makeup, and that’s exactly what I focus on.
What I’m most proud of is the confidence this work gives my clients. It’s more than just a beauty service—it’s seeing someone look in the mirror and feel like the best version of themselves. That never gets old for me.
What sets me apart is the level of care and intention I put into every appointment. I don’t rush the process, and I make sure my clients feel comfortable, educated, and confident every step of the way. I also focus heavily on symmetry, detail, and long-term results—not just how it looks the day of, but how it heals over time.
At the end of the day, I’ve built my business around trust, consistency, and natural results, and I think that’s what really makes a difference.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The best way to work with me is by booking directly through my website, where clients can view my work, read reviews, and choose the service that best fits their needs. I always recommend starting there so they can feel confident and informed before scheduling.
I also love connecting with people through social media, where I share my work, results, and education around permanent makeup. It’s a great way for potential clients to get a feel for my style and see real transformations.
For collaborations, I’m always open to working with other beauty professionals, content creators, and local businesses who align with my brand and values. I enjoy building relationships within the community and supporting other women in business.
And honestly, one of the biggest ways people can support me is through word of mouth—referrals, sharing my work, and leaving reviews. That’s been a huge part of growing my business, and I’m incredibly grateful for it.
