Rising Stars: Meet Carmen Guimera

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carmen Guimera.

Hi Carmen, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a Venezuelan who fled her country six years ago… without knowing the language, without opportunities, and all alone.

Getting to know the city a little bit, I was adapting and looking for several jobs… I sold kitchen products to homes, I have to go home after home, I delivered food, I babysat, I also was a hotel cleaner…

With the wonderful tool that is the smartphone, I made funny videos for my family, so they could see that I was well and happy… until one day, one of those videos went viral! I woke up one morning with 13,000 followers thanks to that video. And I decided to capitalize on it.

My followers kept growing, and I started to encourage many people who were going through the same things I was going through with humor and with many tips on how to get things done in Atlanta.

Many doors opened for me, I was able to bring my daughter and help my family… I was able to stabilize myself, I am on magazine covers, I won the 2019 influencer of the year award in a Hispanic magazine in the state of Georgia, I am an ambassador for an anti-bullying foundation in Florida and I work with many restaurants, businesses, and stores in the United States to increase their followers and also their sales.

I have been blessed!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t speak perfect English, I don’t know the city or someone to guide me.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have four years of working with accident law firms throughout the United States.

Through my social media, I give important information to Hispanics about accidents.

I’m also associated with certain brands, realtors, brokers and supermarkets in Georgia

my fashion tips, home, and recommendations are used by my followers… and my clients are happy and satisfied.

What differentiates me from others is my transparency, and that I never recommend anything that I do not personally use.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
The credit for all these successes belongs to my daughter. Without her, I would not have had the strength to emigrate and get up every day.

I have had many mentors and people who have guided me in this country, a lot of friends.
