Today we’d like to introduce you to Chan Luxe.
Hi Chan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Chandler Kryst, or “Chan Luxe” and I’m a recording artist. I started out as an athlete. I played soccer, and later on towards high school ran track and played football. Among the many awards and nominations for my performances, I was offered a spot on the Coastal Carolina University football team. I went on to obtain a few more awards and nominations for my performance and had the opportunity to attend a couple NFL mini camps, right before Covid shut everything down. Singing and writing was always what I loved and fell back on. I had never considered I could make it into a career until Covid began. Since then, I’ve participated in the short series Singers Like Us, officially released my debut single “Up,” worked a few collaborations with producer Shereen Cheong, and progressively build an online following while quarantine has been in place.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Up to this point, the biggest struggle has been maneuvering the entertainment industry while it’s down from covid. This goes from collaborations, to performance venues, to learning how to market and build a career in a new climate.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a recording artist and singer. So far I’ve published two projects, and have a third coming up which I’m most proud of. Most people point out the authenticity of my voice. I think what truly sets me apart from others is the mentality I’ve gained from football, that is – everything is a skill and I’m only limited to the time I put in and the methods I use. Although my progress is early from an outward eye, I’ve been writing, collaborating, and training my voice formally for years.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I’ve reached success in my music when I’ve attained the max potential of ears that will listen to my music while keeping it authentic. Success to a smaller degree is consistently taking minor steps towards that.
