Rising Stars: Meet Crystal “Trap Crys”

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal “Trap Crys”.

Hi Crystal, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Where to begin… I’m originally from Queens, NY. I moved to Atlanta three years ago. I’m a social worker by day and artist by night. I’m the kind of person who feels fulfilled and passionate about helping and giving back to others. Doing the most good is the motto I live by. I received my bachelors in social work in 2018 at Buffalo State College.. there is where I truly think I found myself! From being an RA, on eboard, working at group homes, etc. I have developed into the woman I am today. Modeling comes to me naturally now due the confidence I build over the years! I’m not where I want to be at today but I know I’m trying my best to follow God’s plan for what’s to come!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not! There are times where I doubt myself and feel as though I’m simply not doing enough. Comparison is the thief of joy. It’s so easy for us to get discouraged by the success and progress of others. I just keep reminding myself I was not where I am now 6-7 years ago. I had no clue what to do and I’m still trying to figure it out. Staying true to myself and putting me first always is helping me navigate that much easier

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I spent four years getting my bachelors, I’m very proud of that accomplishment. Social work comes natural to me. Working in early childhood education is very special to me. Beyond that, I am an all-around creative. I am a runway/print model. I have had the honor of using my college eboard skills to help facilitate Bovtiqve Fashion Week right here in Atlanta. Here I’m known for my creative photoshoots and as the model coordinator for BVFW. I have also done film work as a PA, 2nd AC, background, etc. I am the most proud of ME. Every single shoot, film set, and award. I’m grateful to be able to be me 100% always. I believe that is what sets me apart. As well as my knowledge and skill behind and in front of the camera.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
Photographers, brands, creative directors, models, etc. I’m just a DM and email away! If you’re looking for a muse or need assistance executing a project… I’m your girl! Support to me just means speaking my name in rooms I’m in. I’m here to build my network and my net worth!
