Rising Stars: Meet Crystal White

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal White.

Hi Crystal, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Crystal White, owner of ATL Hotspots. I started this page/journey on Tiktok in December of 2020. My boyfriend and I had been keeping a list of the new places we tried in Atlanta whether it was Brunch, Dessert, or even just Date ideas. I have always enjoyed documenting my life, both by pictures and videos, and I just decided that it would be fun to document everything along the way and share it with people, not realizing how far the page could actually go.

Fast-forward to 2022, my TikTok and Instagram accounts have grown tremendously. I have had the opportunity to collaborate with several different businesses, restaurants, and events in and around Atlanta, and I am just amazed at how far I have gotten. I got to where I am today because I actually enjoy what I am doing, my love for food, and of course consistency. I enjoy helping people out and sharing my experiences, and who doesn’t love food? Atlanta has so many hidden gems and my content gives people that inside scoop on restaurants they may or may not have ever seen. I’ve met so many other foodies along the way and they’ve helped me grow as well.

I am still trying to figure out what works best for me and what everyone wants to see. I now try to create content for all sorts of businesses and restaurants, which has also helped me branch out and try new things. My journey thus far has been fulfilling, and I look forward to continuing to grow my platform while helping people find the “hotspots” of Atlanta!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t necessarily say smooth, but it also hasn’t been too tough either. This journey has been different for me and I’ve just been enjoying the ride. The things I will have to say that I’ve had to overcome are second-guessing myself on the content that I want to put out and the fear of being told no when reaching out to restaurants and event owners. I also work a full-time job, so I have had to find a balance. What keeps me going are the positive comments and support I receive from the community, my family, and friends, and just remembering to have fun with it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an ATL food blogger. Although I started out with only food content, I create content for other businesses, such as candle-making companies, etc., and events as well. I am most proud of how much my page and support has grown, it is very rewarding. I would say that my content sets me apart from others because I provide content on more than just food, and the name “ATL Hotspots” is catchy and memorable. I also put my very own twist to my content that will help ppl to remember ATL Hotspots and the content that I put out there!

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love the diversity that Atlanta provides. The people, the food, and the vibes. The only thing I don’t like is the traffic, which I can bet everyone would agree.
