Today we’d like to introduce you to Hayley Bookhammer.

Hi Hayley, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
What a whirlwind!! This went from being a passion and a hobby, then a thought in my mind, to a full blown business in what feels like no time. I’m still waiting on somebody to pinch me and wake me from this dream. I get to preserve memories for people. I get to watch them get engaged, get married, grow their families, graduate and so on. I get to connect and grow with my families for years to come. This career allows me the freedom to stay home and raise my two children and I do not take this blessing for granted.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’m sure every small business owner hits speed bumps every once in a while. I’ve been blessed to have the most amazing clients who spread the word about me and send me more and more photography opportunities. Getting into wedding photography has been the most challenging for me. I love taking the photos, editing and sending amazing galleries, but I am not good with the admin/bookkeeping side of things. SO much goes into this behind the scenes and it gets overwhelming at times.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a lifestyle and wedding photographer based in Dallas, Ga. I specialize in weddings, family and maternity sessions. I love thinking outside of the box and having creative freedom. I send out timeless galleries that bring you back to the day for years to come.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I have learned that persistence is key with this career path. Following up with clients, maintaining social media presence, checking in with wedding venues, and being active in Facebook groups and the community are all things that have helped launch this into a successful and growing business.

Photography session (family, maternity, couples, graduate) starts at $325
Wedding packages (4,6,8 hour- engagement- second shooter) starts at $1600
