Rising Stars: Meet Janeissy & Mariana of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janeissy & Mariana.

Hi Janeissy & Mariana, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Java & Brie started with two friends, two different cultures, and one shared dream: to create a place where people feel genuinely welcomed.

I’m Puerto Rican, and my business partner, Mariana, is Peruvian. We both have a deep love for hospitality, beautiful food, and bringing people together around the table. What began as conversations about creating something meaningful eventually became Java & Brie—a café and charcuterie bar designed to be more than just somewhere to grab coffee.
From the beginning, we wanted every detail to feel intentional—from specialty coffee and handcrafted charcuterie to the atmosphere and the way every guest is greeted. We believe hospitality is about making people feel seen, slowing down in a busy world, and creating moments that become memories.

Like any small business, the journey hasn’t been without challenges. We’ve worn every hat imaginable, learned countless lessons, adapted through unexpected obstacles, and celebrated every milestone along the way. Those experiences have only strengthened our vision and our partnership.

Today, Java & Brie has become a gathering place for our community. We’ve expanded into catering, host events, roast our own coffee, and continue to dream bigger every year. What we’re most proud of isn’t just the business we’ve built—it’s the relationships we’ve formed and the community that has embraced us from the very beginning.

Our story is really about connection. Coffee and food simply happen to be the way we bring people together.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all! Building a business from the ground up has required a lot of faith, resilience, and a willingness to learn as we go.

Like many small business owners, we’ve navigated staffing challenges, rising costs, and the reality of wearing every hat imaginable.

One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is that growth often requires stepping outside of your comfort zone. Every obstacle has pushed us to improve our systems, become better leaders, and stay focused on the bigger vision instead of the temporary setbacks.

Looking back, we wouldn’t change the journey. The challenges have made us stronger, and they’ve shaped Java & Brie into the business it is today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At Java & Brie, we’re passionate about creating an experience where quality and hospitality go hand in hand. We specialize in handcrafted, in-house roasted coffee, thoughtfully prepared food, and artfully designed charcuterie boards and boxes. Every coffee we roast and every ingredient we select is chosen with intention because we believe great food starts with great ingredients.

Our charcuterie and grazing tables are where culinary artistry meets hospitality. Each experience is carefully curated to be as beautiful as it is delicious, making every gathering feel a little more special.

What we’re most proud of is creating a place where people can slow down, connect, and make memories. We believe the little details matter—from roasting our own coffee to the presentation of every dish—and we hope every guest leaves feeling cared for. That’s what truly sets us apart.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
It truly takes a village to build a small business. Without a doubt, our biggest supporters have been each other. Building a business alongside a trusted friend has been one of our greatest blessings. We each bring different strengths, perspectives, and ideas to the table, and that balance has helped shape Java & Brie into what it is today.

Our husbands and children have also been our greatest inspiration and biggest cheerleaders. They’ve supported the long hours, celebrated every milestone, and reminded us why we’re building something that lasts—not just for ourselves, but for our families and our community.

We’re also incredibly grateful for our amazing team and the loyal customers who believed in us from the very beginning. Every visit, every kind review, every catered event, and every recommendation has helped our business grow in ways we never imagined.

Most importantly, we’re thankful to God for opening doors, providing opportunities, and giving us the strength to keep moving forward through every season. Java & Brie truly wouldn’t be what it is today without the people who have supported us along the way.
