Rising Stars: Meet Keoshma Crane of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keoshma Crane.

Hi Keoshma, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Barkcuterie Chix was born from one of those late-night moments when inspiration hits out of nowhere. I launched my business in June 2025, originally creating luxury charcuterie boards for people. But the more I built, the more I realized I wanted to create something that didn’t already exist. I wanted to build an experience—not just another charcuterie business.

One night while driving down 17th Street in Atlanta, the idea came to me: What if dogs could experience luxury hospitality the same way humans do? That single thought completely changed my direction.

With a background in customer service, hospitality, and a passion for creating memorable experiences, I combined my love for elevated entertaining with my love for pets. That’s how Barkcuterie Chix was born—a luxury pet lifestyle brand where dogs are celebrated with beautifully curated barkcuterie boxes, handcrafted treats, stylish events, and unforgettable experiences.

Since then, the journey has been anything but easy. I’ve faced personal challenges, including losing my home, but I refused to let my circumstances define my vision. Every setback pushed me to work harder, dream bigger, and build a brand that represents resilience, creativity, and joy.

Today, Barkcuterie Chix is about so much more than treats. It’s about creating moments where pets are celebrated like family and proving that sometimes the best business ideas come from trusting a crazy late-night idea and having the courage to chase it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Here’s a heartfelt, professional answer that shows resilience without making it sound like you’re looking for sympathy.

No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve had moments where I questioned how I was going to keep moving forward. I’ve dealt with late payment notices while trying to fund a business from the ground up, all while raising my daughter, who is on the autism spectrum and requires a level of care and advocacy that has shaped me both personally and professionally.

The biggest challenge came when my family experienced a devastating event that caused us to lose our home. It was one of the hardest seasons of my life, but I made the decision that I wasn’t going to let my circumstances define my future. Instead of giving up, I leaned even more into building Barkcuterie Chix.

Those experiences taught me resilience, resourcefulness, and the importance of creating something with purpose. Every obstacle has strengthened my commitment to building a brand that brings joy to others while showing my children that even after life’s hardest moments, it’s possible to rebuild and create something beautiful.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Here’s a polished response that reflects your brand and story while making you stand out.

At Barkcuterie Chix, I specialize in creating luxury experiences for dogs and the people who love them. We’re more than a pet treat company—we’re a pet lifestyle brand focused on elevating how we celebrate our four-legged family members. From handcrafted, all-natural barkcuterie boxes and gourmet treats to upscale pop-up events and curated experiences, everything we create is designed to make dogs feel just as special as their humans.

What sets Barkcuterie Chix apart is that I brought the standards of luxury hospitality into the pet industry. My inspiration came from asking one simple question: Why should humans have all the fun? I wanted dogs to experience beautifully curated moments, whether that’s enjoying a barkcuterie board, attending a luxury dog event, or receiving premium treats made with quality ingredients and beautiful presentation.

I’m most proud of building this brand from the ground up despite life’s challenges. Every product, event, and customer experience reflects my creativity, attention to detail, and genuine love for animals. I don’t just sell treats—I create memorable moments and meaningful experiences that strengthen the bond between pets and their families.

My goal has always been to redefine what luxury looks like in the pet industry, and I’m proud to be building a brand that’s innovative, intentional, and unlike anything else in the market.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
You’re right! Here’s the corrected answer:

One of the biggest influences on my entrepreneurial journey has been Emma Grede and her book, Start With Yourself. The book challenged me to stop waiting for the “perfect” moment and instead focus on building with the resources, skills, and vision I already have.

I also enjoy listening to Emma Grede’s podcast because she has honest conversations about entrepreneurship, leadership, and what it really takes to build a lasting brand. Her perspective reminds me that success comes from consistency, resilience, and staying true to your vision.

As I’ve built Barkcuterie Chix, her message has reinforced my belief that some of the best businesses are created by people who are willing to think differently and solve problems in their own unique way.
