Rising Stars: Meet Nicole English of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole English.

Nicole, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My family started Remembering You in 1983. My Mama died in 1990 and my Granny continued the business. When she died in 2014, it fell into my lap. I had watched the creation of florals for years. But never did one. I helped with delivery and picking up supplies. That was about it. I had ither plans for my life. I did not want to do flowers. Or so I thought. When my Granny died, people started calling and asking me was I going to continue the business. I didn’t even think about it. I said yes. And the work began. Again, I had never done any floral. I just went by memory of watching my Mama and Granny.. And here we are today. I took over and renamed the company Remembering You Flowers and Gifts in 2014.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Business wise, the road has been fine. The only thing that gets in my way is when I realize neither my Mama or Granny are here to see what I have created. I remember so many years my Granny trying to get me in this business when she was alive. But me thinking I knew everything, I resisted and always shut her down. Now I wish she was here to see what I have done. I know she would be tickled pink. LOL! I sit and shake my head sometimes. Who knew?? Brings me to tears many times. I only hope they are somewhere able to see these creations and that they are proud.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My name is Nicole English and I am a Floral Curator. My Atlanta based floral business is Remembering You Flowers and Gifts. I create custom floral designs for everyday moments, weddings, corporate events, sympathy tributes and special celebrations. I also specialize in interactive Bloom Bar experiences where I assist guest in creating their own bouquets for a memorable experience instead of just a purchase.
What I am most proud of is continuing a legacy that began with my Mama and my Granny. I have worked hard to honor both of them while building something that reflects the dream they had coupled with my own passion for creativity, community and connection. Flowers have the power to make people feel seen loved and celebrated. That belief inspired my Flowers for Granny initiative, where I surprise deserving individuals with complimentary floral arrangements simply to remind them they matter. It is one of the most meaningful parts of my business.
I also was hired by the local Coach store at Lenox Mall to do a Mother’s Day Bloom bar Saturday and Sunday on Mother’s Day weekend. It is one of the highlights of my floral career. I am a true Coach girlie and to be able to be in store sharing my gift with their customers was truly a honor.
What sets me apart is I don’t simply arrange flowers … I create experiences and lasting memories.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me in a variety of ways. I design custome florals for everyday occassions, weddings, corporate eventscelebrations and sympathy tributes. I also offer the interactive bloom bar experience for businesses, private parties, grand openings, brand activations, and community events.
One of the best ways to support my business is simply by sharing it. Every referral social media share, review and recommendation helps me reach more people who value thoughtful and intentional floral design. Supporting my initiative, Flowers for Granny, is another way to help me spread joy throughout the community, one bouquet at a time.
