Rising Stars: Meet Royce Rollies of Lagos, Nigeria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Royce Rollies.

Hi Royce, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I go by Royce Rollies.
My story isn’t about “making it” yet—it’s about still pushing, still building, still believing.

I started with nothing but a vision and a phone. Recording videos, posting on Instagram, trying to get my sound and my face out there. Every post, every clip, every late night… it’s all part of the grind to be seen, to be heard, to be remembered.

I don’t have a producer behind me. No big team.
Sometimes I record and mix my own sound, learning as I go, figuring it out piece by piece. It’s not perfect—but it’s real.

I’ve realized something though—
a lot of the people who truly connect with my energy… they’re not even where I am. They’re across oceans, in different countries, feeling my vibe from a distance. And the ones close to me? Not all of them are ready to see me grow.

That’s one of the hardest parts.

But I don’t stop.

Because I know what I carry. I know the vibration is there. And I believe that what’s meant for me will find me—no matter the distance, no matter the timing.

So I keep working.
Keep posting.
Keep creating.

This isn’t the peak of my story.
This is just the part where I refuse to quit.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Most of the ones who understand my vision aren’t even in my country—they’re far away, in places I haven’t reached yet.

And along the way, I’ve lost some of my social platforms… had to rebuild from nothing more than once.

That kind of setback can break you if you let it.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
There are times I have to give up everything else—time with people, comfort, stability—just to chase this vision. Choosing the grind over everything isn’t easy. It means betting on myself when nothing is guaranteed.

And sometimes… I don’t even know exactly where this road is going to take me.

But I still walk it.

Because I know what I carry.
I know the energy I bring is real.
