Rising Stars: Meet Siddy Morgan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Siddy Morgan. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Since Siddy was a little girl, she’s always written and loved photographs. In fact, she has kept photographs since she could, she’d take photos to match her journal entries, sharing who she was then with her future self. It started out with getting disposable camera’s from cvs and begging her grandmother to take her passed the loop to print them. If you’re familiar with Downtown Detroit, the cvs is still there in Campus Martius.

But Siddy had no idea that writing her stories and the photographs to match could make the tv she so loved. But before she could even understand, she’d always speak of owning her own television studio. She knew it would cost a lot of money, so she considered pursuing a career in Sports Medicine to become a Doctor and then create films with the money she’d made. But her ambitions would soon surpass her need to be comfortable first.

So in the middle of college, she left to figure out how she could make her big dreams happen. Due to her college internships as a brand ambassador and other valuable experiences, she began working for Fortune 500 companies to help develop comprehensive marketing strategies building their brands, websites, and social media platforms. Siddy decided to take a leap and offer those services to small businesses. Offering brand design services to personal brands, small businesses, and productions such as but not limited to: feature films, documentaries, short films, podcasts, youtube series, and more.

During her time exploring brands, their designs, coupled with marketing. Siddy finally made it back to the camera and from there the photography fruits have continued to grow and the studio, Sydni Morgan Studios was born shortly after. Since opening SMS has brand designed and co-produced a film called NAKED short film, with series and movies coming soon.

SMS is the creation of a little girl who had a dream took a few leaps and kept on keeping on! Now that you know who we are and why we are! Find out what we do and how we can help you!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This road has been extremely challenging, films are expensive and oftentimes hard to get locations without previous relationships, but it’s my goal to increase our exposure. Which will help us build relationships with companies to use their locations, growing our equipment to seek higher deals, and ultimately helping smooth out the roads for filmmakers to come.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Digital Storyteller, creating her own lane. What do I mean? The world is changing and to this effect, my goal is to share stories that encompass the entire experience of the story, digital design, photography, and motion pictures. All three of these mediums allow the story to come to life and that’s what I do best. I create graphic/digital elements, take professional photographs and make movies of the stories shared through experiences. Each movie and series I’ve written and produced has and will be stories that provoke taboo conversations and push an area of culture forward. Amir I Baraka once said, “The artist’s role is to raise the consciousness of the people. To make them understand life, the world and themselves more completely. That’s how I see it. Otherwise, I don’t know why you do it.” I believe this and carry this with me daily.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
If you’re interested in graphic design, animations, photography and or filmmaking. As intimidating getting started can be, I still urge you to start wherever you are despite what you have to start with. The journey will take you exactly where you need to go and meet you with all you need, especially if you have faith in God.
