Rising Stars: Meet Tammy Dorsten of Woodstock

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammy Dorsten.

Hi Tammy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The concept of an all-natural healing spa that explores advanced health technologies which are shaping wellness and bio-hacking started in 2005, with the birth of a daughter, whom I was told that I’d never have. I wanted to be able to keep her healthy, and the best avenue for that seemed to be the wisdom of 5,000 years of natural knowledge over the little explored guessing game of the 200-year-old AMA medical suggestions, which pushed synthetics into my brand new baby. This led me to rabbit holes of information which allowed me to disseminate information and further my research, Wellness Oasis is the solidification of all of that research into a place which is built to help people naturally and allow the human body to do what it does best – heal itself. From the Salt Cave to hyperbaric Oxygen therapy, to the only Vemi bed in the state, allowing all 900 billion of your cells to vibrate only in wellness, there is a natural therapy here to truly help every person!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Welllness Oasis opened its salt cave in 2022 for 17 days until a catastrophic sprinkler system break sent 110,000 gallons of water through the building in 20 minutes, devastating our space down to the studs. Standing in the front foyer of our 5,600 sq foot building and being able to look through the studs to see the back wall was completely daunting; however, the drive to rebuild the space into something even more beautiful burned in our chest and so, the serene space that greets our community is one that was formed under that fire.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are most proud of the clients whom we are fortunate to have helped. The ones who didn’t feel heard from their doctors. The ones who had the answers to their own challenges and were able to utilize natural means and our amazing biohacking technologies in order to allow the body to heal itself. From the woman who was going to have her foot amputated because the hospital couldn’t get a wound to heal, and we were able to have a scab in two weeks with our Hyperbaric Oxygen chamber, to the 12-year-old who had croup 17 times in his life and had been in and out of hospitals, who, through Halotherapy treatments was able to get back to playing baseball. Our Vemi bed is a huge service to our Veterans, where it helps to reset the nervous system and works on PTSD, allowing our Vets to get 5-6 hours of sleep instead of their normal 1 hour per night. The Infrared Sauna and the BallancerPro Lymphatic sessions allow clients to rid their bodies of toxins, allowing for better sleep and restoration. The best Infrared Lights in the world are utilized to rebuild fascia, penetrating 3 inches into the body to help with muscle regeneration and cellular repair. If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I have been an entrepreneur from a very young age. From selling candy at the bus stop after school, to starting a dance hall in my parents’ basement when I was 13, I have always looked to fill a need and interact with people. My Dad was an IBM executive, so we moved around a lot. Growing up, I wasn’t too keen on moving every 2 years, but as an adult, I am so grateful for the experience. Moving really afforded me the skills and confidence to speak with all kinds of people from all over the country and share in incredibly diverse experiences. My mom was a labor and delivery nurse who loved babies and making bunny cakes for Easter celebrations. I had what everyone dreamed of. I have been truly very blessed.
