Today we’d like to introduce you to Trever Aeon.
Hi Trever, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Long story short, a friend from high whom I bonded with became a pro wrestler. Once we graduated, he invited me to a show, I asked around about training and ten years later here we are.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Not exactly. Wrestling is an extremely expensive undertaking and early on I didn’t have the financial resources to pursue it the way a lot of the younger students who live with their parents did, I was already a grown man with full-on adult responsibilities before I began training. It was also a struggle personality-wise for me as I am very much a beat of his own drum kind of guy and wrestling is hardly the best place for a person like that, let alone a black man like that.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Wrestling is my main thing, but I’ve done a little of everything over the years. I’ve rapped, sang, participated in burlesque shows, go go dance. I am currently working on two music projects (one goth/industrial and one hip hop) but that’s about all I can really divulge on those right now. I’m also planning a graphic novel, but am absolutely taking my time with it.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I think being creative and enjoying art are probably pretty high on the list. Traveling makes me happy as well, I’d say, part of the reason I got into wrestling was to force myself to travel. Dancing is another of my happy places. I kinda live in little happy pockets, I guess.
