We recently had the chance to connect with Shasta Dyer and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Shasta, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’m entering a new season — one where I’m rebuilding me. For so long, I’ve poured out for others — encouraging, cheering, and praying for everyone around me. But now, God has gently reminded me: “You matter too.”
So I’m learning to cheer for me.
To encourage me.
To pray over me.
This season isn’t selfish — it’s sacred. It’s about restoration, renewal, and remembering that I, too, am God’s masterpiece. I’m choosing to celebrate the work He’s doing in me with the same passion I’ve shown for others.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Shasta Dyer, founder of God’s Love N Action Ministries and host of the “You Need to Know on the Radio” Broadcast on the Wave of Praise Digital Radio Network. My heart is to help people encounter the transforming power of God’s love and discover their true identity in Christ.
What makes my ministry unique is that it’s not just about words — it’s about demonstration. I believe love should move. Whether through teaching, prayer, outreach, or simply walking alongside someone in their healing journey, I strive to live out God’s love in ways that touch hearts and restore hope. I also carry out this mission through my non-profit, God’s Love N Action Incorporated, bringing both spiritual and practical support to those in need.
Right now, I’m expanding the reach of God’s love through evangelism, teaching a radio series on “The Beatitudes,” and developing faith-based wellness initiatives that strengthen believers spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. My mission is simple: to awaken hearts, empower believers, and remind the world that God’s love is still alive, active, and deeply personal.
“Love isn’t just spoken — it’s lived. Every act of compassion becomes a reflection of God’s heart.”
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My Godmother, JoAnn Washington, saw me clearly — even before I truly saw myself. She consistently spoke to the person God was shaping me to become. There were times I didn’t fully understand her words or even agree, but she knew.
I’m a better woman because of her love, her wisdom, and the way she cared for my life. She modeled what real strength looks like through how she walked out her faith. She showed me grace, perseverance, and the beauty of hard work. She embodied what it means to be a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a woman of God.
Through her life, I saw what love looks like.
Through her faith, I saw what Christ looks like.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me what success never could — complete dependence on God. Success can make you feel capable and confident, but suffering reminds you that you can’t make it without Him. In my hardest seasons, I learned that His grace truly is sufficient. Suffering stripped away the titles, and the expectations until all that was left was me and God. And in that place, I discovered something success could never give me: intimacy with Him. Success taught me how to build, but suffering taught me how to be still. It was in the pain that I found purpose, and in the breaking that I became usable. Every scar now tells a story of His faithfulness that even in the crushing, God is still producing something beautiful.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I want to build communities for seniors — homes beyond anything they ever imagined they could live in. Places filled with peace, dignity, and the tangible presence of God.
These won’t just be houses; they’ll be havens of hope — where seniors can live out their days surrounded by love, comfort, and spiritual care. Every detail will reflect the heart of God — beauty, safety, and serenity.
My vision is to see these communities established across the United States — each one a reflection of God’s faithfulness and compassion. This is more than a project; it’s my legacy.
I don’t care how long it takes — I am fully committed to seeing this vision fulfilled. I believe what God has placed in my heart will come to pass in His perfect timing.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That Shasta lived a life poured out, every gift, every word, every ounce of love given freely for His glory.
That her grave will be empty, because she left nothing buried within her. She gave it all away the wisdom, the prayers, the compassion, the call. She is resting with her King, knowing that she finished well.
