Meet Sirdarius Rashod | Deputy B | Founder and Chairman

We are thrilled to be connecting with Sirdarius Rashod again. Sirdarius is a Deputy B | Founder and Chairman and is also a content partner. Content partners help Voyage in so many ways from spreading the word about the work that we do, sponsoring our mission and collaborating with us on content like this.

Before Deputy B joined the Sheriff’s Office, he was with the Police Department where he made his first viral video. The first video that he has ever done was to Drake’s “In My Feelings” also known as the Kiki Challenge. Since then he has danced to songs by Beyonce’s “Before I let Go’, Ciara’s “Level up”, and Blanco Brown’s “The Get Up”. “The Get Up Challenge” was the one video that set him over the top. It was shared by the artist of the song, several celebrities and businesses throughout social media. During this time, he has made a name for himself, known as “the dancing cop”. With his viral dance videos all over social media, he has been able to reach millions of people not just nationwide, but worldwide. He has been on several news stations here in Atlanta, Florida, and other parts of the country. He has also been on two morning radio shows nationwide on iHeartRadio, and on local FM Radio here in Atlanta both in Spanish and in English. He also recently made it to the Instagram page, The Shade Room where his viral video of him dancing to Chris Brown’s “Go crazy”. This video has over three million views just off that page alone and was shared by so many celebrities.

Deputy B has recently started a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization entitled Step-by-Step Initiative, Inc., who’s mission is to empower individuals one dance, one smile, and one laugh at a time. Implementing change in the community by assisting individuals to find their purpose in life today, tomorrow, and forever. With his nonprofit organization, Deputy B wants to help bring awareness of everyday obstacles, while motivating and uniting all through laughter, smiles, inspiration, and dance. His goal is to encourage, inspire, and assist individuals affected by unexpected circumstances, such as loss of a loved one, grief, homelessness, illness, abuse, and unemployment.

“Too often, people facing these unexpected obstacles are overlooked with no one to turn to or no outlet to recharge. We pledge to make a difference and assist individuals in need. We have all faced or will face a situation in life that was unexpected, although everyone’s journey ends differently, Step-By-Step is here to guide and encourage no matter the end result.” -Deputy B.

Not only that but he was to bridge the gap between the community and law enforcement.

“We need each other, both the community and law enforcement to better our communities together. Alone we can do so little, but together we can do so much.” -Deputy B

Check out our conversation with Sirdarius below.

Deputy B, it’s an honor. Before we get into it, can you give us a quick, two-line intro for folks who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am Deputy Sirdarius “Rashod” Benton, a native from Atlanta, GA. I am married to my beautiful wife, Brittany Benton, have four beautiful kids and a dog.

Since we last spoke, what’s new? What should we know about? Do you have anything coming up that you want our audience to know about?
Right now, I am preparing to have my first two events in the month of June and July. The first event, “Summer Unity Kick-off” will be held on June 5th, 2021, from11-3pm at Heritage Park in McDonough, GA. The goal of this event is to raise at least $10,000 to assist individuals in need, provide a space for local vendors to sell and promote their businesses, while creating a family-friendly, fun event that will allow for families to enjoy each other’s company and share joy with others throughout the community. The Summer Unity Kickoff will consist of: Vendors, Live Entertainment, Games, and more.

The Second event in July will consist of giving back to the youth of all ages within the community and teaming up with a major corporation. This event is called The Back to Schoo Jamboree. More details will be coming soon for this event.
