We’re looking forward to introducing you to Anderson Smith. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Anderson, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me right now is getting the new gallery in Midtown ready for our grand opening. Curating all the artwork and making sure everything is in place and ready to go come January 24th
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Anderson Smith. I am an artist as well as gallery owner of Gallery Anderson Smith now located in Midtown walking distance from the High Museum of Art. We closed our Buckhead location in late June and are opening up our Midtown location in January. What makes our gallery interesting is that we are the only gallery in the area in the hear of the art district in Midtown. We are currently working on our grand opening on the 24th and excited about our new lineup of international artist.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My late fiance’ Oksana saw me clearly before I saw myself. She is the one who encouraged me to go for it! After she passed 11 years ago this month is when it hit me that what I have always been was an artist. None of this would be possible without her.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would say to my younger self to stay humble young man. The world is a unkind place to be, so stay true and follow your passions,
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
No the public person of me is far more different. I am somewhat of an closed off person. Quite to myself most of the time. The public see me a lot different as they only see what I portray to them.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I was kind and cared about people.
