Story & Lesson Highlights with Drezden Woods of Peachtree Corners

We recently had the chance to connect with Drezden Woods and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Drezden , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
Since starting my business a lot of people that I have been around has this mindset on the false realities of what my business needs. People think that when starting a business you are going to make money when just starting out. Unfortunately that is not the case. When starting out you have to spend money to make money. I have spend hundreds of dollars starting out to get the foundation started from creating my LLC to getting a business plan started I have spent money to start the foundation. A influencer had said “If you are not taking your dreams seriously you are not broke enough”. I reality take that risk spend the money because you only have one life one opportunity. Another false reality that is misunderstood about my business is thinking that everyone is my customer. The Ideology on which I have to do business with everyone is a business that has no set goal on which type of clients you want to attract. This phrase from a dating coach said “If everyone’s your customer nobody is your customer. I stand by that for my business.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, I’m Drezden

I am a photographer and entrepreneur based in Atlanta, GA. I am a outspoken person, who loves story telling and serving the community. Let me share my story, I am from Atlanta Georgia. I started my photography and creative career in 2015 then, launched my business in 2023. A fun fact about my career is my business portfolio helped me get my corporate job in photography. I graduated from Gwinnett Technical College in Georgia. I gotten my Associates Degree in Web Design and Development. I continue my career both in corporate and personal by learning framework and teamwork by collaborating with other photographers and creatives while I continue to grow my artistic voice. My founding statement is to serve my community in a creative way. To create founding memories for my community and clients. And to prosper through life.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was a couple of months ago when I was able to move to a different area. I was able to focus on my business along with my personal life. I was able to focus on what’s important for me and what is going to take me to the next level. Now that I am in a more productive environment I am able to focus on more projects and task related objectives.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
What suffering taught me is that pain is temporary success is ongoing. Without suffering you cannot have success. Suffering had taught me to just keep moving forward and always have a plan. When you have a solid plan and plan out why you are suffering the you can get out of that position. Also, you do not have to suffer alone while it is good to be self resilience you need a good community to help you out when life happens. As a influencer on Tik Tok said, “Trying to do stuff yourself all the time is not the best option try to get some help or pay a professional. It will get done a lot faster”

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
What smart people are getting wrong is being the smartest person in the room. Everyone needs a mentor or someone who is older and wiser to give them the right information. Being the smartest person in the room is easier to manipulate. When you have someone who is wiser your become a lot wiser.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope the legacy people will tell when I am gone is how my work has inspired them and how big of a impact I made to the community.
