Mary Pinson shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Mary, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is a normal day like for you right now?
Hot tea right when I wake up, early morning Pilates when i can and then off to my floral studio. Depending on which day it is I’m either in meetings or preparing for my event filled weekends!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, my name is Mary Pinson and I am a floral and event designer. Born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, I graduated from the University of Alabama( Roll Tide!) with a degree in Fashion Design. I have called Macon, Georgia my home for the past 31 years. I am married to Hughes and we have two grown children, Ginny Anne and Hughes. I have always had a flair for design and my floral career started from a hobby! I have a floral studio in downtown Macon where I teach flower arranging workshops and we also produce weddings and events all over the southeast.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship with my parents. They were wonderful nurturers.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Believe in yourself, work hard, learn something new everyday, and anything is possible! Find your inner Super Woman!!!
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I am committed to giving back to my community.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
Not living every second of life to the fullest!
