We recently had the chance to connect with Nayeli and have shared our conversation below.
Nayeli, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Thank you so much for having me. Right now a normal day is preparing for the release of my upcoming single and preparing for my live show in April 2026. So lots of music playing, working out and multiple meetings with my team to get prepared to have a successful concert.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, my name is Nayeli and I’m an urban pop singer hailing from Stockbridge, Ga. My brand and my music are truly about being comfortable with yourself in all ways and being proud of it!
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory would be playing the lead on my high school’s musical rendition of “Once on this Island”. It was a lot of rehearsal and singing. I learned so much during that time about myself and about performing. I realized I am capable of incredible things.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I did this after surviving an attack from my abusive ex fiancé. I found my strength after surviving that and working through all the pain I had endured on and off for 3.5 years. I took back control of my life and started healing. I went to therapy, went back to and graduated college and even released a song titled “Better to You” that depicted some of my thoughts and feelings during this tumultuous relationship in my life. I was able to acknowledge the part I played in this painful time period and not let it define me.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I believe they would say themselves. I pour so much into them and gladly give my last to see them prosper.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would stop worrying so much and enjoy the ride! I have spent a lot of my life trying to be perfect and waiting on various things to align to strike. I would take the biggest chill pill and enjoy all that life has to offer.
