Story & Lesson Highlights with Shayla Maddox

Shayla Maddox shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Shayla, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I’m chasing a life of peace, happiness, and financial freedom for me and my kids. It’s not just about dreams — it’s about making sure we have a future that feels safe and full of joy. I won’t stop until we get there

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Shayla, and I’m the proud owner of The Party Popperz Co. here in Chattanooga, TN. We bring the fun right to your doorstep by specializing in mobile concessions—serving up snow cones with a variety of flavors and toppings, fresh popcorn, and fluffy cotton candy, all with friendly hosts to keep the party going.
What makes us unique is that we’re not just dropping off machines—we create an experience. Whether it’s a backyard birthday, a school carnival, a church event, or a corporate celebration, we bring the treats, the service, and the smiles so our clients can relax and enjoy their event without the stress.
Our journey has been all about evolving to meet the needs of our community. We recently transitioned from other event services into focusing on mobile concessions, and it’s been amazing to see how something as simple as a snow cone or cotton candy can spark so much joy. Right now, we’re working on expanding our reach to serve even more events across the Chattanooga area—and to keep finding new ways to make every celebration unforgettable.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
What breaks the bonds between people is when we stop making time to connect—when life gets so busy that shared moments slip away. What restores them is joy, laughter, and genuine experiences together. That’s why I started my party business: to create those moments where families, friends, and communities can come together, celebrate, and leave closer than they arrived

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me how strong I really am, how to start over when the pieces don’t fit back together, and how to value the small joys I once overlooked. Success can feel good, but it never made me grow the way pain did—it was the hard seasons that shaped my character, my faith, and my ability to stand for others going through their own storms

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes—what you see is exactly who I am. I’m natural, genuine, and always myself. I smile often, uplift others, and give 100% in everything I do, making sure people leave every interaction feeling satisfied and valued

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say I was someone who brought happiness wherever I went—that I helped them make memories with the people they love. That I brought joy into ordinary moments, turned celebrations into memories, and gave my best to everyone I crossed paths with. More than anything, I want my story to be about kindness that left a mark to the world.
